(Dan Tri) - In the 2025 high school graduation exam, Chuong My A High School (Hanoi) attracted attention because it is not a specialized school, but had the valedictorian of block A00 and a female student with a 9.75 literature score.

In the recent high school graduation exam, Chuong My A High School (Chuong My district, Hanoi ), a "village school," continued to create surprises by being the alma mater of the top-scoring student in the A00 group - Nguyen Duy Phong. Phong achieved perfect scores in the A00 group, with scores of 10 in Mathematics, 10 in Physics, and 10 in Chemistry.

Furthermore, Phong had previously achieved the highest score in the High School Student Assessment Exam (HSA) organized by Hanoi National University. He scored 130 out of 150 points, surpassing last year's top scorer by one point.

In the second round of the Thinking Skills Assessment exam organized by Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Phong achieved a score of 90.54. He was among the top four candidates nationwide.

In addition, Pham My Linh, a female student from Chuong My A High School, achieved a score of 9.75 in the Literature exam. This is the highest score in Literature achieved by any candidate in this year's high school graduation exam.

Chuong My A High School is located in the outskirts of Hanoi. For the 2025-2026 school year, the entrance exam cutoff score for 10th grade is 21 points, which isn't particularly high. However, in recent years, the school has consistently produced outstanding students in major exams.

Last year, former student Nguyen Mai Truc of the school also held the top position in the Competency Assessment Exam with a score of 129/150, leading in all 6 exam sessions of 2024.

So what makes a "village school" able to achieve such impressive results in important national exams?

In response to this question, Nguyen Duy Phong, the top-scoring student in the A00 group in the recent high school graduation exam, said that ever since he was in junior high school, he had set a goal of passing the entrance exam to Chuong My A High School when he moved up to the next level.

According to Phong, in Chuong My district, Chuong My A High School has a special place in the hearts of local students. The school is renowned for its vibrant teaching and learning environment.

The teachers at the school are always dedicated to their profession, caring for and encouraging their students, and wholeheartedly committed to teaching. This is a precious tradition that the school's teaching staff has upheld for many years.

During his time at school, Chinh Phong also felt the passionate dedication of his teachers to their profession. Sensing their love for teaching, he himself once wished to become a teacher.

According to Phong, the vibrant teaching and learning atmosphere at the school motivated him and other students to try harder.

In fact, during his middle school years, Phong didn't think he had the ability to excel in natural science subjects. Therefore, he set a realistic goal: to pass the entrance exam to Chuong My A High School, because he also hoped to have a balanced and focused high school education.

Furthermore, Phong's parents and older brother all studied at this school and were all excellent students. Therefore, his journey of growing up has been closely connected to Chuong My A High School since childhood, even through everyday family conversations.

Pham My Linh, a female student who scored 9.75 in Literature in the recent high school graduation exam, shares a similar viewpoint with male student Nguyen Duy Phong. According to Linh, the development of each individual on the path to acquiring knowledge involves both objective and internal factors.

First and foremost, excelling in a particular subject requires the individual's unique strengths and abilities; the environment does not entirely determine an individual's capabilities. However, the environment does have a significant influence and can contribute to supporting an individual and leading to unexpected results.

While studying at Chuong My A High School, Linh always felt the love, understanding, and friendly, open attitude of the teachers towards their students.

The teachers are all passionate about their profession and always ready to support their students. It's not uncommon to see classes still not dismissed 30-40 minutes after the scheduled end, as teachers and students are still engrossed in an interesting topic.

The school also has a holistic development orientation for students, so that they not only excel academically but also... excel in extracurricular activities. A wide variety of academic, artistic, and media clubs are offered, so that each student can find a few clubs that suit them and participate in their activities.

Ms. Hien was the homeroom teacher of Nguyen Duy Phong in 10th grade and Pham My Linh in 12th grade. She once asked her most outstanding students why they chose to attend a humble "village school" like Chuong My A instead of prestigious specialized schools.

The students told the teacher that they love this school with its rich history spanning over 60 years. The school emphasizes providing students with balanced learning opportunities, preventing them from focusing on only certain subjects, which is why many students want to study here, as it allows them to continue exploring their abilities and aptitudes during their high school years.

The school's annual assessment of student abilities to rearrange classes helps students gain experience, clearly identify their strengths in certain subjects, focus their studies, and define a clear path for themselves.

A passion for the profession and a deep affection for students are long-standing traditions of the school's teaching staff. The teaching and learning atmosphere at the school is always vibrant, and the school also focuses on developing beneficial extracurricular activities and movements to give students more opportunities to develop and hone themselves.
