On the occasion of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, a delegation from Ho Chi Minh City visited, worked and organized many gratitude activities in Con Dao special zone.
On the afternoon of July 26, a working delegation led by Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen visited Le Hong Phong Secondary School and presented books and learning equipment to three typical schools: Cao Van Ngoc Primary School, Le Hong Phong Secondary School and Vo Thi Sau High School.

In particular, Con Dao students also enjoyed a special art program organized by the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City. With circus and puppetry performances combining traditional and modern, the program brought a bustling, joyful and emotional atmosphere, adding color to the summer on the remote island.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy - Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee - expressed her emotion at being present in Con Dao during the days of gratitude in July. According to her, the donation of books and learning equipment demonstrates the affection and responsibility of Ho Chi Minh City towards the educational cause of Con Dao, now a special zone of the city.
"The leaders of Ho Chi Minh City acknowledge and thank the efforts of teachers who have been and are sticking to their classes and schools, preserving the flame of knowledge on the remote islands of the Fatherland. The city will always accompany and care to nurture the young generation, building Con Dao to become more and more developed," Ms. Thuy shared.
She also sent wishes of health and success to teachers, parents and students, and hoped that the education and training career here will increasingly grow, accompanying the common progress of Ho Chi Minh City.
