Ho Chi Minh City: 118 communes and wards successfully organized the Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

On the afternoon of October 23rd, Mr. Phung Thai Quang, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor, announced that, to date, 118 out of 168 communes, wards, and special zones in Ho Chi Minh City have completed the organization of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Congress at all levels, achieving 70% of the set target. The Congresses took place in a democratic and unified atmosphere, demonstrating a spirit of innovation and aiming for comprehensive development.

The Con Dao Special Zone successfully organized the Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front .

According to Mr. Phung Thai Quang, this congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels has three outstanding points. Firstly, this is the first congress held in communes, wards, and new special zones after Ho Chi Minh City implemented administrative unit reorganization and operated a two-tiered local government model.

Secondly, the organization of the Congress was closely linked to social welfare activities, focusing on caring for poor households, vulnerable people, workers, and students, thereby promoting the role of the Front in building national unity.

Thirdly, in accordance with the spirit of Directive 48 of the Party Central Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Congress is held after the Party Congress at the same level, serving as a prerequisite for political and social organizations to hold their own congresses.

Mr. Phung Thai Quang, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor, answered questions from the press on the afternoon of October 23.

“Through 118 congresses held, it can be affirmed that the quality of organization has improved, closely adhering to the guiding spirit of the Central Committee and the City Party Committee with the motto 'Unity, democracy, innovation and development'. The congresses have created a vibrant atmosphere, encouraging cadres, Party members, union members, association members and the people to look forward to the Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City and the congresses of political and social organizations of the City,” Mr. Phung Thai Quang added.
