The Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences attracts young scientists.

On December 12th, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences inaugurated its 2025 recruitment drive for civil servants.

Professor, Dr. Le Van Loi, President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, stated: Enhancing the operational capacity of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) is closely linked to the organization of personnel recruitment, a decisive factor in the quality of research resources.

“To meet the demands of innovation and integration, VASS needs to improve its recruitment process towards openness, transparency, and competitiveness, ensuring the attraction of highly qualified personnel, especially young scientists. In addition, the application of digital technology in notification, screening, and evaluation helps shorten recruitment time, increase accuracy, and enhance objectivity,” the President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences stated.

At the same time, the Institute is developing a job competency framework, thereby selecting the right people for the right jobs, linking recruitment to the long-term development strategy of each specialized institute. Improving the quality of recruitment not only supplements the supply of qualified human resources but also creates a foundation for the Academy to promote research, innovation, and contribute more effectively to national policy planning.

According to the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, as of June 10, 2025, the total number of current staff is 1,267, and the number of assigned staff is 1,488. The Academy is recruiting staff to supplement its workforce according to job positions in units under and directly affiliated with the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences. The recruitment quota for each job position includes 178 positions.

In accordance with legal regulations and the Circulars and guidelines of the Ministry of Interior on the recruitment of civil servants, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences has so far received 476 valid applications that meet the eligibility criteria, including: 421 candidates for the competitive examination; 42 candidates for the recruitment method; and 13 candidates for the selection method.
