On the morning of October 29, a working delegation of the province led by Mr. Tran Van Lau - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee inspected the actual situation of landslides on the dike and rural traffic system along the Hau River in Phong Thanh commune. This is an area that is being affected by prolonged heavy rains and high tides.

Joining the delegation were comrade Chau Van Hoa - Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of provincial and local departments and branches.
According to local reports, the entire route currently has 12 landslides with a total length of 354m, 5-7m deep, vertical slopes, creating frog jaws and encroaching on the dike foot, threatening the entire dike system, directly affecting 884 hectares of orchards of more than 1,036 households and 2 primary schools.
Of which, 9 particularly dangerous landslides have been declared an emergency by the Provincial People's Committee according to Decision 967/QD-UBND, dated August 25, 2025. Particularly for 3 landslides with a length of nearly 100m, the commune coordinated with the People's Committee of the hamlet to mobilize forces and people to temporarily reinforce and limit the spread.
During the inspection, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Van Lau acknowledged and shared the difficulties with the local government and people; at the same time, directed the commune to mobilize social resources and "4 on-site" forces to continue reinforcing the landslides that have occurred; limit the spread of landslides that affect people's production and daily life. Review the entire route, develop an investment plan to thoroughly overcome the situation, ensuring safety for people and the dike works.

The Provincial Party Secretary directed the agriculture and environment sector and local authorities to continue to propagate, guide and support people to proactively respond to natural disasters, especially in riverside and coastal areas, places with high risk of landslides. For particularly dangerous landslides, it is necessary to develop a comprehensive plan to overcome them and propose to the Provincial People's Committee to allocate funds to completely handle them and stabilize people's lives.
