Inside the styrofoam box were two newborn boys. Ho Chi Minh City residents discovered a handwritten letter left by the mother stating that her husband had left and was unable to raise them.
On November 16, the People's Committee of Ba Diem Commune, Hoc Mon District (HCMC) was still coordinating with relevant parties to clarify the case of two newborn boys being found abandoned in a Styrofoam box placed in front of a resident's house.
At around 3am this morning, residents living on Kenh T2 Street heard the sound of a baby crying; upon checking, they discovered two newborn boys abandoned in a Styrofoam box.
Checking inside the styrofoam box, many people discovered a handwritten letter with the content: "My name is NTH, born in 2000. I gave birth to 2 boys at 7am on November 15. Because my husband left, I do not have enough money or ability to raise 2 children. I hope someone who is able to adopt the two children...".
Knowing that her neighbor, Ms. Do Thi Thanh (30 years old, living in Hoc Mon district) had a small child, many people brought the two boys to ask her to temporarily take care of them. At the same time, they reported it to the local authorities.
The leaders of Ba Diem commune requested medical staff to take care of the two children.
Through extracting images from security cameras, the authorities initially discovered that at nearly 1 a.m. the same day, a person riding a motorbike left two boys at the base of a star fruit tree in front of a resident's house and then left.
The incident is being clarified.
