
Accordingly, the patient is Ho Thi N. (born in 1953, residing in Bai Lang village, Tan Hiep commune, Da Nang city). Ms. N. has severe asthma, difficulty breathing, respiratory failure, and is being cared for at the Tan Hiep Commune Military Medical Station. However, the patient's health condition requires emergency care and treatment at a higher level.
Due to the impact of storm No. 13, Cu Lao Cham sea has big waves, strong winds, civilian boats cannot move. The commune government has sent a document requesting the Da Nang City Civil Defense Command and the City Border Guard Command to support specialized vehicles to ensure the safety of people's lives in emergency cases.
Mr. Le Moi added that to ensure logistics for the island, last weekend, the locality directed the dispatch of two ships to transport food and necessities to the island.
Regarding storm response, Tan Hiep commune has proactively deployed plans early, mobilizing all forces synchronously. “We have many years of experience in dealing with storms, so from the Party Committee, village Party cell to military and border forces have all been assigned specific tasks. Forces are on duty 24/7, ready to respond,” said Mr. Le Moi.
Mr. Le Moi also added that Tan Hiep commune currently has about 2,000 people, but when there is a storm, half of the people go to the mainland to take shelter, the remaining about 1,000 people stay on the island, mainly healthy people.
“The elderly and those with underlying medical conditions are being arranged to take shelter at storm shelters, border posts or solid structures. We have proactively surveyed and evacuated people from landslide areas, reinforced houses, and ensured maximum safety for people,” Mr. Le Moi emphasized.
