
To ensure the safety of people in the border area, the Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard Command has directed units to grasp the weather situation and prepare forces and means to promptly support people in responding to heavy rain.
The Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard Command informed that by 9:00 a.m. on November 17, the entire land border of the province had 13 traffic flooding points in the areas of the following units: La Lay International Border Guard Station, Ba Nang Border Guard Station, Thuan Border Guard Station, Huong Phung Border Guard Station, Lang Ho Border Guard Station, Con Roang Border Guard Station; 2 landslide points at Km10, National Highway 15D in the area of La Lay International Border Guard Station and at Km25 of Road 14 in the area of Ba Nang Border Guard Station.
In Ba Nang Border Guard Station alone, continuous rain has caused flooding in many locations, areas, and roads. Specifically, Da Do Bridge was flooded about 2m, Km28 spillway bridge was flooded 60cm, Ra Poong spillway bridge was flooded about 50cm; landslides occurred at Km25 of Road 14... In vulnerable areas, at risk of flooding and isolation, Ba Nang Border Guard Station deployed a working group to coordinate with local forces and authorities of Dakrong commune to evacuate 2 households with 9 people in Ba Nang village, 19 households with 79 people in Trai Ca village and 9 households with 31 people in Ra Lay village to safe areas. The unit deployed 3 groups with 12 comrades to coordinate with local authorities to help people prevent and control floods.
Faced with the complicated situation of rain and flood, the Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard Command directed units and forces to proactively grasp the situation, promote the "4 on-the-spot" motto; deploy 22 working groups with 61 officers and soldiers to coordinate with local forces and authorities to set up warnings and checkpoints at flooded areas and dangerous areas, proactively prohibiting people and vehicles from passing through before taking measures to ensure safety. Units regularly and closely monitor the situation of rain, flood, inundation, propagate and guide people to deploy response measures; check and review vulnerable areas, ready to support and evacuate people to safe places.
