Downstream areas of lakes: Long Song and Luy River proactively respond when discharge flow increases

On the afternoon of November 17, it rained in the upper reaches of Long Song Lake (Tuy Phong Commune) and Song Luy Lake (Phan Son Commune, Lam Dong Province), and the amount of water flowing into these lakes is increasing.

To proactively prevent and combat natural disasters and ensure the safety of reservoir works, Binh Thuan Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited - Tuy Phong Branch increased the water flow discharged through Long Song reservoir spillway at 6:00 p.m. on November 17, with a flow rate from 100 m3 /s to 200 m3/s and is expected to continue to increase, depending on the amount of water coming to the reservoir.

Also on the afternoon of November 17, a representative of the Luy River Reservoir Management Board (Phan Son Commune, Lam Dong Province) said that the current water flow into the reservoir is still large. Therefore, the Reservoir Management Board is increasing the flow through the spillway from 100 m3 /s to 150 m3 /s from 2:00 p.m. the same day.

To proactively prevent and combat natural disasters and ensure the safety of reservoirs and people's assets, especially in the downstream areas of Long Song and Luy rivers, the downstream communes are proactively taking response measures to minimize the impact.
