Appointing Colonel Dao Ba Viet to the position of Commander of Coast Guard Region 4

On October 31, at Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province, the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 held a conference to hand over the responsibilities and tasks of the Region Commander. Major General Le Dinh Cuong, Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard chaired the conference.

Previously, in Decision No. 2279/QD-TTg dated October 17, 2025, the Prime Minister appointed Major General Tran Van Luong, Commander of Coast Guard Region 4, Vietnam Coast Guard, to hold the position of Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Vietnam Coast Guard; in Decision No. 435/QD-BQP dated October 27, 2025, the Minister of National Defense appointed Colonel Dao Ba Viet, Deputy Chief of Staff, Vietnam Coast Guard, to hold the position of Commander of Coast Guard Region 4, Vietnam Coast Guard.

After listening to the report presented by the representative of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command, approving the handover minutes and comments, Major General Le Dinh Cuong, Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard, agreed with the handover contents.

On behalf of the Party Standing Committee and the Chief of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command, Major General Le Dinh Cuong acknowledged and commended the outstanding results and achievements that the Coast Guard Region 4 Command has achieved in recent times, including the strong impression and important contributions of Major General Tran Van Luong in his position as head.

In his speech assigning tasks and concluding the conference, Major General Le Dinh Cuong, Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard, requested Major General Tran Van Luong, in his new position and higher position, to continue to promote his political mettle, intelligence, capacity, and practical experience together with the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the Chief of the Vietnam Coast Guard to unite, lead, and direct the building of a "revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and modern" force, successfully completing all assigned tasks.

Major General Le Dinh Cuong highly appreciated the qualities and abilities of Colonel Dao Ba Viet in his previous positions, and at the same time requested the Commander of Coast Guard Region 4 to quickly grasp the situation, promote a high sense of responsibility, steadfast and steady political will, and work with the Party Committee and Command of Coast Guard Region 4 to build a highly united bloc, uphold the principle of democratic centralism, lead and direct the building of a comprehensively strong Regional Command, "exemplary and typical," a strong and clean Party organization, and successfully complete all assigned tasks, contributing to maintaining sovereignty, security and safety of the sea and islands in the Southwest of the Fatherland./.
