General Nguyen Tan Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA), and Deputy Minister of National Defense chaired the conference.

Attending the conference were Senior Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Lieutenant General Do Xuan Tung, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Major General Nguyen Ba Luc, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.

The conference was held in person at the Ministry of National Defense's conference hall and online at 38 locations across the army.

Evaluation conference: In the 2024 - 2025 school year, Party committees and commanders of agencies, units and schools have thoroughly grasped and strictly implemented the directives and resolutions of the superiors on education and training work, promptly advised on the issuance and directly issued the system of documents; reviewed, adjusted and supplemented the training program to match practical requirements and tasks.

The motto “The quality of the school’s training is the combat readiness of the unit” continues to be implemented more and more practically and effectively. Coordination between the school and the unit in training, education and other activities has many positive changes. The gap between the school and the unit has gradually narrowed.

The content and form of propaganda and career guidance for admission continue to be innovated, with increasing effectiveness; the number of applications for preliminary admission to military universities and colleges in 2025 increased by more than 41% compared to 2024.

Complete and put into use military recruitment software; issue a set of criteria for smart military schools; open 14 new training majors; issue 73 output standards for postgraduate training programs; build 40 program standards for all levels of higher education, 207 training programs for all levels and 5 "Digital Popular Education" training programs.

Schools reviewed, revised, and supplemented 704 training programs and 508 training program output standards. Training programs were revised and supplemented to reduce theory and increase time for practical training, exercises, and night training, closely following the unit's reality.

Major General Vu Viet Hung, Director of the Department of Military Training - Schools (General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army) presented a summary report of the 2024-2025 school year at the conference.

Management, training and administration are strict and scientific. Field trips and practical learning activities of staff and students at the unit are enhanced. The number of teachers and educational managers is sufficient and the quality is improved. Currently, the proportion of teachers in schools with postgraduate degrees is nearly 77% (up 12.7%); there are 18 professors and 354 associate professors. Coordinate with the Ministry of Education and Training to complete the conditions for organizing enrollment and training for the civil system at 15 training institutions.

At the conference, delegates proposed to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to continue to pay attention to and invest in facilities and equipment for training, education, and scientific research. There should be policies to attract talented people to military academies and schools; train teachers and managers, especially in the use of technology, foreign languages, and information technology; send cadres and lecturers to rotate in practice, visit training and exercises at units; invite leaders and commanders of units to exchange and impart experience. Review and plan cadres and lecturers in the direction of standardization and rejuvenation. Along with that, there should be appropriate remuneration policies to create motivation, enthusiasm, and responsibility for the teaching staff.
