Also attending the meeting were Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Pham Viet Hung and Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet.

On behalf of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation, Head of Delegation Nguyen Hong Minh quickly reported on the situation of the force: as of the morning of December 9, there were 28 teams with 552 members present in Thailand and some teams have started competing according to the schedule of the organizing committee. During the day, the delegation will welcome 160 more athletes, including many key teams such as athletics, swimming, archery...

Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh shared his joy when the whole delegation received special attention from the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism , and said that the teams had made efforts to overcome the initial difficulties in living, traveling, and nutrition. Some problems were promptly reported by the delegation and coordinated with the host organizing committee to handle, ensuring the best training and competition conditions for the athletes.

"The Vietnamese Sports Delegation will try to compete with the highest determination to fulfill the promise made to the Prime Minister and Minister before departure," the Head of the Delegation emphasized.

Minister Nguyen Van Hung kindly asked the athletes about their accommodation, nutrition, and training schedule and asked the delegation to continue to coordinate closely with the host to take good care of each team.

Director Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet also informed that the delegation had been thoroughly prepared in terms of expertise, psychology and equipment; any issues arising at the Congress were promptly handled so as not to affect the athletes' competitive spirit.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Nguyen Van Hung conveyed congratulations from Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to the entire delegation and said he had been in Thailand since December 8 to attend the opening ceremony of the 33rd SEA Games.

The Minister shared that although the meeting did not have all members present due to the tight competition schedule, "this is a small meeting with great significance."

The presence of leaders of the Ministry, Embassy and press agencies shows the affection and support of the Party, State and people for the Vietnam Sports Delegation.

Looking back at the recent SEA Games, in which Vietnam twice topped the overall rankings, the Minister assessed this as the result of the correct orientation for sports development: Building a widespread mass sports movement, while focusing on key investments in strong sports to gradually reach the continental and world levels.

“Sports are not only about improving health or competing for medals, but also a bridge to spread the message of a friendly and rich-in-identity Vietnam; contributing to promoting culture, tourism and the image of Vietnamese people to the international community,” the Minister emphasized.

Minister Nguyen Van Hung has high expectations for coaches and athletes: to compete with all their might, respect their opponents, ensure solidarity and preserve the national image.

“Each athlete and coach not only performs professional duties but is also a cultural ambassador, bringing Vietnam's message of peace and friendship to friends in the ASEAN region,” said the Minister.

He hopes that each face of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation will "fan the flames of patriotism and national pride" in each match, so that the good values of the Vietnamese people will shine brighter in the regional arena.

Appreciating the careful preparation of the Department of Physical Training and Sports and related units, the Minister also reminded the entire delegation to continue to overcome difficulties and coordinate well with the organizing committee and other delegations, especially in the context of many challenges during the 33rd SEA Games. He believed that the spirit of solidarity, discipline and efforts of each team would contribute to the overall success of the Games.
