New rural advancement in Quoc Oai district

Six communes have achieved advanced new rural standards.

In 2015, the Party Committee, government, and people of Ngoc My commune (Quoc Oai district) were delighted to receive the certificate recognizing the commune as having achieved the new rural standard. This was also one of the first localities in Quoc Oai district to achieve this accomplishment.

Recognizing that the new rural development program has no end point, from 2016 to the present, Ngoc My commune has continued to mobilize the participation of the entire political system, aiming to achieve the advanced new rural development standard. Approximately 157 billion VND has been mobilized by the locality to complete and improve 19 criteria, of which nearly 12 billion VND is from socialized capital from the people.

According to Nguyen Xuan Tuyen, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ngoc My commune, with the attention and investment of Hanoi City and Quoc Oai district, and the joint efforts of all sectors of the people, the appearance of the locality has undergone many positive changes. Infrastructure is increasingly meeting the needs of the people.

“Recently, Ngoc My commune was awarded a certificate recognizing it as an advanced new rural area by the Hanoi People's Committee. The people of the two villages in the commune, along with the Party committee and the local government, are very excited. This is a great honor for the locality, a result of the Party's will and the people's aspirations…” - Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tuyen emphasized.

Along with Ngoc My commune, in the second quarter of 2024, two other communes in Quoc Oai district, Sai Son and Nghia Huong, were also recognized by the Hanoi People's Committee as achieving advanced new rural standards. Therefore, to date, Quoc Oai district has a total of 6 communes that have achieved advanced new rural standards. Previously, 3 communes had been recognized as achieving the standards: Phu Cat, Dai Thanh, and Tan Hoa.

School facilities in Quoc Oai district are being upgraded and modernized to meet the requirements of teaching and learning.

Striving to finish one year ahead of schedule.

Building new rural areas is one of the important goals and tasks outlined in the resolution of the 23rd Congress of the Quoc Oai District Party Committee for the 2021-2025 term. Accordingly, the entire district strives to have 8 communes recognized as achieving advanced new rural area standards by 2025.

In 2024, Quoc Oai district strives to bring Can Huu and Ngoc Liep communes to the advanced new rural area status; thereby completing the target for building advanced new rural communes for the entire 2021-2025 period one year ahead of schedule.

According to Pham Quang Tuan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quoc Oai District, during the process of building new rural areas, the locality always identifies the people as the main actors. Therefore, the implementation always ensures that "the people know, the people discuss, the people do, the people inspect and supervise, and the people benefit."

"Thanks to that policy, the emulation movements launched by the locality always receive great support and approval from all sectors of the population. Especially in upgrading transportation infrastructure, improving cultural institutions, and building a bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe rural landscape," Mr. Pham Quang Tuan further shared.

To achieve the target of having communes meet advanced new rural standards one year ahead of schedule, as stipulated in the Resolution of the 23rd District Party Congress, Quoc Oai is prioritizing resources to invest in upgrading infrastructure for communes according to the plan to reach the target in 2024. At the same time, officials from various departments are assigned to closely monitor the situation at the grassroots level to promptly address difficulties and obstacles, ensuring the completion of criteria according to the set roadmap.

Besides the target of having a certain number of communes complete the advanced new rural development program, in the period 2021-2025, Quoc Oai district strives to have 6 communes achieve the model new rural development standard. Currently, Phu Cat commune in the district has already achieved the model new rural development standard. In 2024, the district aims to have two more communes complete the model new rural development program, namely Ngoc My and Sai Son.
