Currently, Phuc Trach grapefruit is entering the peak harvest season. While some types of grapefruit without labels, without links, and with poor appearance are only sold for 10,000 - 20,000 VND/fruit, at Phuc Trach Anh Quan grapefruit farm (village 11, Phuc Trach commune), the price remains stable at 35,000 - 40,000 VND/grade 1 fruit.

Ms. Ho Thi Ha - the farm owner said: "In recent years, we have applied strict technical processes from seed selection to care, especially with 5 hectares of grapefruit that have been granted a growing area code for export. Our products have increasingly high economic value, favored by businesses and customers. Up to now, we have harvested over 40% of the output."

Mr. Phan Xuan Hien - Head of the Cooperative Group said: "Recently, nearly 50 tons of organic grapefruit have been signed to purchase at a price higher than the general market price, bringing practical benefits to growers. We expect the government to continue to promote training and technology transfer so that farmers can master organic processes and improve market thinking. At the same time, build a value chain from sustainable production - distribution to improve efficiency and expand the model."

In the 2025 harvest, the province's grapefruit output will reach over 40,000 tons.

It is known that the whole Phuc Trach commune currently has more than 540 hectares of grapefruit, of which 470 hectares are bearing fruit, with an estimated output of more than 6,500 tons. Mr. Le Nguyen Kien Cuong - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuc Trach commune informed: "In the coming time, the locality will continue to strengthen support policies, encourage people to apply scientific and technical advances, improve product quality and design. At the same time, the commune will coordinate with sectors and enterprises to promote trade, seek potential partners in markets such as Europe, Japan, Korea, ... with great demand for high-quality products".

Not only growers, the formation and development of cooperatives and cooperative groups are also making an important contribution to raising the brand of Phuc Trach grapefruit. This is both a "bridge" to gather farmers and a focal point for production links, supporting members in applying scientific and technical advances and changing farming methods. Thanks to that, product quality is improved, creating a foundation for growers to have stable selling prices.

Choa Agricultural Cooperative livestreams to promote Phuc Trach grapefruit on e-commerce platforms.

Since the beginning of the season, Choa Agricultural Cooperative (Phuc Trach commune) has connected to consume nearly 20 tons of grapefruit from members and farmers in the area. Mr. Tran Xuan Loat - Director of the Cooperative said: "Linking consumption is especially important, helping growers no longer worry about output. Products can be sold over the season for more than 2.5 months, always keeping stable prices. In addition, promotional activities are helping the Cooperative expand the market every year, many customers in Dien Bien, Lao Cai, An Giang... contact to order at a selling price of 400,000 VND/box".

“With the help of AI and digital technology platforms, marketing and livestream sales are much more convenient, we can reach customers across the country. However, as one of the pioneers in digital transformation in the industry, we still need more support in terms of capital, infrastructure, skills training and e-commerce connections to fully exploit our potential, making the Phuc Trach grapefruit brand develop more strongly,” Mr. Loat added.

Nhat Hang General Production and Trading Cooperative (Huong Do commune) signed a contract to consume organic grapefruit.

In reality, products sold through traders or retail at traditional markets often have unstable prices and are easily forced to lower prices. On the contrary, cooperatives and households that have production links, comply with quality management processes, and produce organic products with traceability labels can avoid this situation.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang - Director of Nhat Hang General Production and Trading Cooperative (Huong Do commune) informed: "We purchase Phuc Trach grapefruit to distribute from traditional markets to the store system. Depending on each segment, grapefruit grown according to standards and beautiful designs are always well received, priced from 30,000 - 40,000 VND/fruit. This year, grapefruit is quite a good crop, weighing from 1 - 1.5 kg/fruit. This shows that if we pay proper attention and invest, grapefruit products will have a solid position in the market."

The province continues to focus on developing cooperatives and cooperative groups with sufficient capacity as the foundation for the production - consumption chain.

Recently, the National Agricultural Extension Center in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ha Tinh province organized the forum "Agricultural Extension @ Agriculture" with the theme " Promoting trade and consumption of Phuc Trach grapefruit produced according to organic standards". Speaking at the forum, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ha Tinh said: " In the coming time, to maximize the potential of Phuc Trach grapefruit products, the agricultural sector will continue to accompany localities, cooperatives, and enterprises in organizing production according to standards and regulations, associated with granting growing area codes and attaching traceability stamps. At the same time, the province also focuses on trade promotion, expanding domestic and foreign markets so that grapefruit products can affirm their worthy position, bringing sustainable income to people. However, along with that, farmers must be more proactive and conscious in investing in planting and care to build prestige with purchasing enterprises and consumers ".

From production practice, it can be affirmed that if investment is focused, scientific and technical advances are applied, and production and consumption are linked, Phuc Trach grapefruit will not only maintain stable quality but also achieve high selling prices and be widely accepted by the market.
