Ca Mau: Receiving fishing vessels for illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing - IUU

Implementing the direction of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province on receiving and handling the case of Fishing Vessel BL-91132-TS. On October 8, 2025, the Department of Finance (Price and Public Assets Division) joined the Provincial Working Group to receive documents, exhibits and means for handling according to authority.

According to information from the captain of the fishing boat, there were about 1.8 tons of seafood including: live sharks, plastic mantis shrimp, iced sharks... purchased from foreign waters to bring to Vietnam for consumption.
After working with the IUU violating unit, the Working Group determined that there were 342 kg of shrimp equivalent to about 67 million VND and 1,442 kg of fish equivalent to about 38 million VND.
Thus, the total amount of seafood currently on the IUU fishing vessel is 1,784 kg, worth VND 105 million; this amount of property was immediately sold by the Working Group according to regulations. In particular, the evidence of the fishing vessel was temporarily detained and escorted to Port of Squadron 421 under Squadron 42 at (Nam Can, Ca Mau province) for verification and handling according to regulations.
