The Provincial People's Committee directed the situation of stopping receiving household waste in some communes and wards.

(DN) - On November 17, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province sent an urgent dispatch to the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment; Chairmen of the People's Committees of the following communes and wards: Tran Bien, Long Hung, Tam Phuoc, Long Thanh, An Phuoc, Phuoc Thai, Cam My, Xuan Dong, Xuan Duong, Thong Nhat regarding the information of temporarily stopping receiving household waste of 10 communes and wards.

Specifically, in Official Letter No. 9947/UBND-KTN dated November 17, 2025, the Provincial People's Committee criticized 10 communes and wards: Tran Bien, Long Hung, Tam Phuoc, Long Thanh, An Phuoc, Phuoc Thai, Cam My, Xuan Dong, Xuan Duong, and Thong Nhat for their slow implementation of payments for household waste treatment costs as directed by the Provincial People's Committee.

The Provincial People's Committee leadership requested the People's Committees of the 10 communes and wards to seriously learn from experience and urgently coordinate with Sonadezi Services Joint Stock Company to inspect, complete the documentation, establish procedures, and make payments for household waste treatment, completing this no later than November 25, 2025. In case localities delay payments, leading to the suspension of waste reception and waste accumulation in their areas, the Chairmen of the People's Committees of the communes and wards will be held directly responsible before the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

At the same time, the Provincial People's Committee leadership instructed the Department of Agriculture and Environment to urgently work with the 10 communes and wards mentioned above and relevant units to ensure the collection and treatment of household waste in the province, preventing any temporary suspension of waste reception or accumulation of waste; to strengthen monitoring and urging of communes and wards to complete payment of household waste treatment costs; and to promptly compile reports and propose to the Provincial People's Committee to direct the strict handling of localities that are slow in paying waste treatment costs, leading to the suspension of waste reception and accumulation of waste affecting the lives of the people.

During discussions with representatives of Sonadezi Services Joint Stock Company on the afternoon of November 17th, the Quang Trung Waste Treatment Plant (Gia Kiem commune, Dong Nai province) has resumed receiving household waste from communes and wards. The company hopes that localities will comply with the directives of the Provincial People's Committee to maintain waste reception and treatment operations, contributing to ensuring environmental hygiene in the province.

Previously, from 0:00 on November 16th, the Quang Trung Waste Treatment Area stopped receiving household waste from 10 communes and wards that had not made advance payments or settled household waste treatment costs from July 1st to the present.
