Phu Yen has long been famous as the "birthplace" of tuna fishing in Vietnam.

Not only bringing economic value in export, ocean tuna is gradually becoming a unique culinary "symbol", contributing to the tourism brand of this land.

With a harmonious combination of marine culture and culinary art, ocean tuna is considered a special "tourism ambassador" of Phu Yen.

Tourists come to Phu Yen not only to explore the wild beauty of Ganh Da Dia, Bai Mon-Mui Dien, but also to enjoy delicious food.

After a day of sightseeing, Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen (a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City) and her family stopped in Tuy Hoa city to enjoy the cuisine of "Xu Nau."

The most impressive dishes for Ms. Yen are the dishes made from tuna such as tuna sashimi, tuna eyes stewed with Chinese herbs, grilled tuna loin...

Ms. Yen said that not only is it fresh and delicious, dishes made from tuna all have their own unique flavor.

Nowadays, from resorts to popular eateries in Tuy Hoa, all have tuna dishes on their menus. Many local culinary establishments have been established for a long time, preserving traditional and rustic ways of processing. Some large hotels and restaurants even organize demonstrations of whole tuna processing on the spot, turning the culinary experience into an attractive cultural activity.

According to the Managing Director of Sala Tuy Hoa Hotel Trinh Quang Bao, dishes made from ocean tuna are now considered a specialty of Phu Yen. The performances of preparing sashimi, stewed tuna eyes, hot pot, salad, grilled... not only bring authentic experiences but also help promote the culture of the sea and people of Phu Yen to tourists.

The current tourism trend is for tourists to experience local culture and cuisine. Dishes with strong regional flavors not only create an impression but also keep visitors longer. Realizing the potential to promote tourism from ocean tuna, Phu Yen province has participated in and organized many culinary events associated with performances, preparing hundreds of delicious dishes, which have been set Vietnamese records.

Mr. Nguyen Le Vu, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Yen province, said that ocean tuna is not only simply advertised but also introduces the culture of the fishing village with many stories from the fishing festival, singing Ba Trao...

Through activities introducing tuna cuisine, domestic and foreign tourists are increasingly aware of Phu Yen. Many restaurants, hotels, and resorts also regularly perform ocean tuna filleting and prepare dishes on the spot to impress guests staying and relaxing.

In the long term, Phu Yen will focus on promoting cuisine from ocean tuna while expanding to other local specialties such as blood cockles, king crabs, oysters, jumping snails, crabs, lobsters, etc. to better serve the needs of diners./.
