Among the 62 professor candidates this year, Ms. Tran Thi Viet Nga is a female candidate for professor in the field of construction. Ms. Nga was born on September 11, 1974, and is currently the head of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering.

Ms. Tran Thi Viet Nga graduated from Hanoi University of Civil Engineering in 1996 with a major in Water Supply and Drainage - Water Environment. In 1999, she graduated with a master's degree in Wastewater Engineering from the Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand). She received her PhD in 2002 from the University of Tokyo, Japan with a major in Urban Environmental Engineering. In 2015, Ms. Nga was appointed associate professor in the field of Construction.

Ms. Viet Nga was a trainee lecturer, Department of Water Supply and Drainage - Faculty of Environmental Engineering - Hanoi University of Civil Engineering; Researcher, Department of Urban Engineering - University of Tokyo; Postdoctoral Researcher of JSPS - Department of Environment and Sustainable Development - United Nations University of Japan; Researcher, Institute of Environmental Science and Sustainability - University of Tokyo.

In 2009, Ms. Viet Nga returned to Vietnam to work at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering as a lecturer in the Department of Water Supply and Drainage, Faculty of Environmental Engineering. By 2015, she was a senior lecturer. Currently, Ms. Nga is the head of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering.

In scientific research, Ms. Viet Nga's main research direction is to develop and improve water and wastewater treatment technology to achieve high treatment efficiency suitable for Vietnam's practical conditions, serving the goal of safe water supply, wastewater reuse and resource recovery; Sustainable water and waste management oriented towards ensuring energy security, resource recovery and climate change adaptation.

The female associate professor of construction has published 76 scientific articles, including 26 articles in prestigious international journals SCIE, 7 articles in prestigious international journals Scopus, 3 articles in ACI journals, 2 articles in international conference proceedings in the Scopus Indexes category. She has also guided 4 doctoral students to successfully defend their theses, including 2 main supervisors. She has completed 2 state-level topics and 2 ministerial-level topics.

The only female professor candidate in the construction industry considers herself to have good moral and ideological qualities; meets professional standards for the job position such as having a university, master's and doctoral degree in a major suitable for the training job, and has a certificate of pedagogical training.

In addition, she has the ability to update and improve her professional and technical skills. In teaching, she always follows the goals and principles, fully and qualitatively implements theeducational program. She always maintains the qualities, prestige and honor of a teacher; respects and treats students fairly; protects the rights and legitimate interests of students...
