Singer Tien Dung, born in 1984, is one of the two members of the popular boy band The Men from the early 2010s.

After the milestone of 2016, The Men's musical activities gradually decreased and then stalled. Both members pursued their passions and new directions in their careers.

In 2020, Tien Dung went to the US to celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year) with his wife and children, but unexpectedly, the Covid-19 pandemic broke out. Due to circumstances, he had no choice but to settle abroad and adapt to a new life.

Earn over $20,000 per month.

"At first, I was very confused; you could say it was a turning point in my life. I told myself, 'Wherever my child is, I will be there too,' and then I tried to get used to life here," Tien Dung told a VietNamNet reporter.

In the US, Tien Dung and his wife and children live in Malibu, California. In January, California experienced a devastating wildfire that lasted 24 days, and Tien Dung's family still remembers the terrifying events of that day.

When the police announced the evacuation, he and his family hastily packed up some essential belongings and left, resigned to the fact that they would lose their home.

"However, luckily the fire only reached the door before it was extinguished. About a day later, we were allowed to go home and were relieved to see the house almost intact," he recalled.

In recent years, Tien Dung's main income has come from renting out properties. He owns three rental properties in the US and one in Vietnam.

The singer hired an intermediary company to manage the rental of the property, collecting over $20,000 USD (524 million VND) each month.

Meanwhile, the rent in Vietnam is negligible. "My tenants in Vietnam are facing financial difficulties, so they pay in small installments. After the Covid-19 pandemic, I realized life wasn't easy either, so I've been accommodating to them and don't want to make things difficult for them," he explained.

Of all the houses, Tien Dung and his wife and children particularly like the one in the Big Bear area, in the San Bernardino Mountains of California - famous for its snowfall in winter.

"Even though California's weather is quite hot compared to other states, the Big Bear area still gets snow. In particular, the snow here is cold but not freezing, making it comfortable to play in and very pleasant," the singer shared.

Spend all your time with your children.

The reporter asked, "If you only rent out houses and collect the money at the end of each month, your life must be too leisurely?", Tiến Dũng denied.

First of all, according to him, his current wealth didn't come about by chance, but is the result of hard work throughout his youth. When he and Le Hoang formed the group The Men, they set the goal of singing to earn money.

At their peak, The Men were in high demand, with a nearly full schedule of performances for an entire month, sometimes performing in three different cities in a single day.

"With the number of hits The Men had at that time, we could have easily pushed our fee up to 100-120 million VND per show. However, we only took the original 60 million VND, compensating with the number of shows we did. Thanks to that, we were valued by show promoters and always had many shows for many years," Tien Dung recalled.

Once one of the most charming and sought-after singers in Vietnamese showbiz, Tien Dung is now focusing solely on his family.

He used the money he earned from acting to venture into real estate business, accumulating both assets and experience. After moving to the US, the man in his 30s spent a year researching the real estate market and conducting fieldwork.

Recently, Tien Dung has only been renting out houses and is no longer involved in real estate business.

The singer explained: "For the past few years, the US economy has been declining. If you sell a house and make a small profit, then buy another one at the same price, you won't have much left. So, I don't buy and sell anymore; I only sell when the price is good or there's an urgent need. Otherwise, I just leave it as it is."

Currently, in a phase where he doesn't have to worry about work and finances, Tien Dung dedicates all his time to his family. His days revolve around taking his children to and from school, caring for and playing with them, and sharing household chores with his wife.

"People might think it's idleness, but for me, it's happiness. I'm planning to set up a company in Vietnam, and I'll probably be very busy in the near future, so right now I just want to focus on my family," he said.

Le Hoang of The Men returns to showbiz after a 3-year hiatus. Singer Le Hoang - a member of the band The Men - released a new photo set to celebrate his 41st birthday, marking his return to showbiz after a 3-year break from singing.
