Mr. Lionel Klotz, a Canadian tourist, became the one millionth visitor to the Quang Ninh Museum in 2025. He and his family traveled to Ha Long on a cruise ship and took the opportunity to visit the museum during their trip.
Lionel said he was very surprised and moved to be informed that he was a special guest:
"The museum was a very interesting destination and made my trip even more memorable. I also wanted to stroll around the streets and try some local food," he shared.

Along with Lionel, many international visitors expressed their delight in exploring the museum's exhibits, from the rich flora and fauna of Ha Long Bay to the history of the northeasternmost region and the unique culture of the local ethnic groups.
Many people were particularly impressed with the area simulating a deep underground coal mine and the visually vivid and engaging display about Yen Tu Mountain.

As a popular tourist destination on the shores of Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh Museum has reached the milestone of 1 million visitors for the first time this year, far exceeding the 760,000 visitors projected for 2024.
Besides its rich collection of artifacts and unique architecture, the museum is also promoting the development of a "digital museum" with services such as electronic ticket sales via Zalo OA, cashless payment, and bilingual automated audio guides. The percentage of visitors using digital services currently reaches 20-25%, contributing to enhancing the visitor experience and promoting the local image.

Mr. Do Quyet Tien, Director of the Quang Ninh Museum, said that this event marks the trust and affection of visitors towards the Museum, and also affirms the unit's efforts over the past time. It is expected that in 2025, the Quang Ninh Museum will welcome 1.1 million visitors, striving for continued growth in 2026.
“In the coming time, Quang Ninh Museum will continue to innovate the content and methods of exhibition, apply 3D technology and virtual reality technology, and introduce more services to enhance the experience and extend the visiting time of tourists. Through this, the Museum hopes to become a more attractive destination, contributing to the development of tourism in Quang Ninh,” Mr. Tien said.
