Busy tourist spots during the first two days of the holiday

In Sa Pa (Lao Cai), according to statistics from Sa Pa town, the total number of visitors after the 2-day holiday of April 30 and May 1 was 57,575; of which international visitors were 7,357. Total tourism revenue after 2 days reached 121 billion VND.

During this year's long holiday, Sa Pa town ( Lao Cai ) has proactively implemented a plan to organize the "Sa Pa Summer Festival" with a series of exciting events taking place at many famous tourist destinations, closely associated with the identity of the land and indigenous people.

It is expected that by the end of the holiday, Sa Pa will welcome about 125,000 to 150,000 visitors, with total revenue reaching nearly 500 billion VND.

In Hanoi , historical sites and tourist attractions were also crowded with visitors during the first two days of the holiday. Among them, Ba Dinh Square was a popular destination for locals and tourists. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, many people came here to take souvenir photos, as a way to remember the heroic history of the nation.

On this occasion, the Hanoi Department of Tourism coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Protection Command to provide drinking water, milk, and bread to those who visited the Mausoleum. According to Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang, giving gifts to people and tourists visiting the Mausoleum is an annual activity between units to express the affection of the capital Hanoi towards people across the country and tourists; at the same time, spreading the image of the city's tourism as a "friendly - quality - attractive" destination.

In addition, relics such as Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Temple of Literature, Hanoi Flag Tower, Hoa Lo Prison, Hanoi Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake walking street, Military History Museum... also attract a large number of tourists with many unique and attractive activities.

In Quang Ninh, on April 30 and May 1, the whole province welcomed nearly 500,000 visitors, an increase of 16% over the same period in 2024. Of which, the total number of overnight guests reached nearly 200,000. International visitors are estimated at 44,700. Total tourism revenue is estimated at VND 1,334 billion, an increase of 45% over the same period in 2024.

On the evening of May 1, the Ha Long Carnival 2025 program was held at Sun Carnival Square, Ha Long City, attracting about 20,000 people and tourists. The number of visitors to Co To and Van Don also increased to a record. Accommodation, services, sightseeing routes, and island tourism experiences all operated at maximum capacity.

Meanwhile, in Quang Nam, in the first two days of the April 30-May 1 holiday, the locality welcomed 131,000 visitors and tourists, an increase of 41% over the same period in 2024. Of which, international visitors are estimated at 58,000 (an increase of 11% over the same period in 2024); domestic visitors are estimated at 73,000 (an increase of 93% over the same period in 2024).

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam, during this holiday, the room occupancy rate of 3-5 star hotels in the province reached more than 90%, and 1-2 star hotels reached about 60-65%.

In Hue city, during the first two days of the April 30 and May 1 holidays, the locality recorded a sudden increase in the number of tourists with more than 160,000 arrivals, including more than 40,000 international visitors.

The occupancy rate of many hotels reached 98%, many places had no rooms left. Total revenue from tourism activities was estimated at about 330 billion VND, nearly double compared to last year.

According to the Hue City Department of Tourism, tourists mainly concentrate at points belonging to the Hue Monuments Complex, beaches and eco-resorts.

In Da Lat city (Lam Dong), in the first 2 days of the holiday, the number of visitors increased slightly, concentrated at some locations such as Da Lat Station, Da Lat Night Market, Lam Vien Square, City Flower Garden, Xuan Huong Lake, Valley of Love...

Preliminary statistics from the Department of Culture, Science and Information under the People's Committee of Da Lat City show that the number of domestic and international visitors booking rooms before the April 30 and May 1 holidays this year reached about 70%. However, the number of visitors is forecast to gradually increase in the following days as tourists from Ho Chi Minh City and the Southeast provinces flock back after the end of the series of programs celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

This year's April 30 and May 1 holidays coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, so Ho Chi Minh City welcomed a large number of domestic and foreign tourists to visit and learn about the local cultural and historical values.

Along with the localities, the number of guests at accommodation establishments also increased dramatically in the first days of the holiday. At the resort complexes belonging to the FLC Hotels & Resorts system such as Vinh Phuc, Ha Long, Sam Son, Quy Nhon... the room occupancy rate has reached over 90%.

At the FLC Sam Son complex alone, the number of visitors recorded reached nearly 5,000 in just 4 days of the holiday, with all 804 hotel rooms and resort villas reaching nearly 100% occupancy. Ms. Tran Thi Kim Qui - Permanent Deputy General Director of FLC Hotels & Resorts said: "To meet the needs of tourists during the peak season, the system has proactively planned and prepared early. We have developed a detailed operating plan, increased staff, optimized services and organized a series of cultural and entertainment activities suitable for many groups of guests."

It is expected that during the April 30 and May 1 holidays this year, the number of visitors will increase at many tourist areas and destinations. To ensure the safety of tourists, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism has requested the Department of Tourism; Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of provinces and centrally run cities to improve product quality and introduce new tourism products to serve tourists.

In addition, strengthen inspection, examination, supervision, timely detection and strict handling of organizations and individuals who do not ensure tourism business conditions, tourism service quality standards; and violations of tourism laws. At the same time, promote and raise awareness among tourists and tourism businesses in preventing and combating fraud on the internet during the peak tourist season.
