After the ceremony, the National Assembly deputies returned to the National Assembly House to hold a preparatory meeting. At the meeting, the National Assembly deputies will listen to the National Assembly Standing Committee report on the reception, explanation, and revision of the proposed agenda for the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly. After that, the National Assembly will discuss and vote to approve the agenda for the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly.

The 8th session of the 15th National Assembly solemnly opened on October 21, 2024, and is expected to close on the morning of November 30, 2024, in the form of a concentrated meeting at the National Assembly House, Hanoi.

The 8th Session will be held in 2 phases: Phase 1: from October 21 to November 13, 2024; Phase 2: from November 20 to the morning of November 30, 2024. The total working time of the Session is expected to be 29.5 days.

At this session, the National Assembly will spend most of its time on law-making, supreme supervision, consideration and decision on socio-economic issues and a number of other important issues.
