On September 2, Quang Binh General Hospital ( Ha Giang province) said the boy was admitted on September 1 with trauma and a wound on his right hand.
The family said that 3 days before being admitted to the hospital, while at home, the child was playfully holding the phone charger that was still plugged into the power source. When they discovered that the child had been electrocuted, the family pushed their hands away and freed the child from the power source.

At the time of admission, the child had severe pain at the site of the injury, dry necrosis of the right thumb, hot and red swelling, exposed tendons and bones; dry necrosis of the distal phalanx of the index finger, with exposed bone of the metacarpal phalanx of the right index finger. Immediately, the doctors performed first aid, cut and removed the necrotic tissue and washed the wound. Currently, the child's health is stable and he is being treated at the hospital.
Previously, a backup charger connected to a phone suddenly exploded, causing a 7-year-old boy (in Son La ) to suffer severe injuries to his scrotum, bleeding profusely, and had to be taken to the emergency room.
Then, the charging phone suddenly exploded, causing the 37-year-old woman (in Bac Giang ) to go blind in one eye, lose 5 fingers on her right hand, and injure many parts of her body.
Doctors recommend that people absolutely do not use their phones while plugged into a fixed charger or a backup charger; the charger should be unplugged from the power source when not in use.
