According to the decision, the emergency situation is determined at the section Km262+400 to Km262+530 D'Ran Pass, National Highway 20 (in Xuan Truong Ward - Da Lat) and the section Km47+252 to Km54+000 Gia Bac Pass, National Highway 28 (in Son Dien Commune).

Previously, from October 26 to 30, prolonged heavy rain caused landslides and cracks in many locations on two national highways, disrupting traffic through the area, posing a potential safety risk to people and vehicles.

In particular, at the D'Ran Pass area, the ground was saturated with water, causing tons of rocks and ancient pine trees to suddenly slide onto the road surface on the night of October 28, completely paralyzing the road section through the Suspension Bridge.

D'Ran Pass is about 10km long, with many narrow bends and steep slopes. This is a vital traffic route connecting Da Lat with Song Pha Pass (National Highway 27), leading down to Phan Rang - Khanh Hoa . During the rainy season, landslides often occur on this pass, causing traffic disruption.

In the decision to declare a natural disaster emergency, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee requested relevant units to immediately deploy emergency response measures to ensure safety for people and traffic.

Measures include posting warning signs, prohibiting unauthorized organizations and individuals from entering dangerous areas; organizing 24/7 on-site monitoring, tracking and assessing the development of natural disasters; and simultaneously diverting and regulating traffic to ensure smooth and safe traffic.

In the long term, authorities must determine the cause of landslides and cracks and propose repair and stabilization plans to ensure traffic safety, property and people's lives.
