According to the latest records of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tay Ninh province, in the past two weeks, heavy rains and floods from upstream have caused many canals and fields in Tay Ninh and neighboring provinces to rise, causing widespread flooding. Many low-lying residential areas have been isolated, and people have had to mobilize all means to support, raise assets and reinforce embankments.

Initial statistics show that more than 2,200 hectares of rice were deeply flooded, nearly 1,000 hectares were completely lost. In addition to rice, many areas of vegetables, fruit trees and aquatic products were also significantly damaged. Production was interrupted, while the price of animal feed and agricultural materials increased, making it more difficult for farmers. As of the end of November 4, the damage caused by prolonged heavy rains combined with rising upstream floods in the Dong Thap Muoi area was estimated at more than 38.4 billion VND. The total damage caused by natural disasters was more than 61 billion VND.
In response, local authorities in the province have established emergency teams to support people in securing their houses, transporting materials, and building dykes to protect residential areas. Many landslide sites and deeply flooded roads have been marked with warning signs and traffic control forces have been deployed.

The agricultural sector has instructed people to harvest salvageable areas early, and to prepare seeds, materials, and plans to restore production after the flood recedes. For areas completely lost, localities are compiling statistics to implement policies to support losses according to regulations.
The medical force has stepped up propaganda on disease prevention after the flood, provided clean water, disinfectants and supported people in treating domestic water sources. Groups, organizations and philanthropists have also actively donated necessities, life jackets and flashlights to help people in flooded areas stabilize their lives in the short term.
Rain may continue locally, with water receding slowly in many low-lying areas. The meteorological agency advises people to closely monitor weather forecasts, limit travel through deep flooded areas, and proactively protect property and livestock.
