Promoting the value of Vietnamese products through supermarket systems.
According to data from the Department of Industry and Trade, there are currently 15 supermarkets in the province, including 8 in North Quang Tri and 7 in South Quang Tri. Responding to the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign, these supermarkets have been playing a crucial role as a bridge between producers and consumers, providing customers with high-quality, diverse goods at stable prices, while also becoming an effective channel for promoting local products and regional specialties.
Having been in operation for nearly 10 years, Co.opmart Quang Binh supermarket has become a familiar address specializing in providing high-quality, diverse, and abundant Vietnamese goods to people in Dong Hoi ward and surrounding areas. Currently, more than 12,000 items are supplied at the supermarket, with Vietnamese goods accounting for up to 95%. All products undergo strict quality control from the initial stages, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations. A price stabilization policy is regularly applied, and product designs are increasingly attractive, meeting modern consumer tastes.
"We have always prioritized bringing Vietnamese goods closer to consumers as our core objective. Beyond distribution, Co.opmart Quang Binh also dedicates space to OCOP products within the province and local specialties, giving farmers the opportunity to promote and sell their products right in their hometowns," said Mr. Dang Tu Minh San, the supermarket's director.

Beyond simply distributing goods, Co.opmart Quang Binh also places special emphasis on supporting businesses, cooperatives, and production facilities in the province. Characteristic agricultural products and OCOP (One Commune One Product) products are prioritized for display in convenient locations, making them easy for consumers to choose. After the merger of Quang Binh and Quang Tri, the Co.opmart Quang Binh and Co.opmart Dong Ha systems have closely coordinated, facilitating the circulation, introduction, and promotion of local products between the two sales points. As a result, many specialty products have found a firm foothold in the market, such as Linh Hue sticky sweet potatoes, vegetarian fish sauce and tea from Tuan Linh Clean Mushroom Production and Agricultural Business Cooperative (referred to as Tuan Linh Cooperative), An Xuan Gynostemma pentaphyllum, Hung Dung turmeric starch, ginger powder, and perilla powder from Tran Lan…
Not only Co.opmart, but also Thai Hau supermarket, belonging to Thong Nhat Cooperative (Ba Don ward), has made an impression on consumers with its close connection to local products. Here, 90% of the goods on the shelves are Vietnamese products, including many products from the province, such as peanut oil, sesame seed cakes, turmeric starch, etc. In particular, the supermarket has built strong links with many cooperatives and production facilities in the province, contributing to creating a stable market for agricultural products. Examples include Truong Thuy peanut oil, Quang Thuy wooden chopsticks, Quang Phuong rattan skewers, Tan An sesame seed cakes, Hai Ninh chewy sweet potatoes...
Chairman and Director of Thong Nhat Cooperative, Ho Van Son, stated: "We always prioritize Vietnamese products. Bringing local products to our shelves is not just about business; it's also a responsibility to promote and preserve the province's traditional values, contributing to connecting supply and demand and bringing quality goods to consumers." Thanks to these efforts, Thai Hau Supermarket has become a trusted address, contributing to increased consumer confidence in Vietnamese products.
Efforts of manufacturing facilities
Alongside supermarkets, many production facilities in the province have continuously strived to ensure quality and meet stringent standards to bring their products into modern distribution systems. A prime example is Tuan Linh Cooperative (Dong Trach commune). Through perseverance and a systematic approach, the cooperative has gradually established its position. First, the cooperative focused on selling its products in provincial supermarkets such as Co.opmart Quang Binh and Co.opmart Dong Ha, creating a stable market foundation and gradually building trust among local consumers. From this initial success, the cooperative's products have expanded to many large retail systems nationwide, including: Big C, SaiGon Co.op, Co.opmart Ha Tinh, Co.opmart Hue, Co.opmart Saigon, Co.opfood Saigon, Emart supermarket, Kingfood, Bach Hoa Xanh chain, and many agricultural product stores inside and outside the province.

Ms. Ngo Thi Kim Lien, Director of Tuan Linh Cooperative, shared: "To get our products into supermarkets, we first have to ensure product quality, attractive packaging and design, clear information, and complete legal documentation. Besides that, the sales team needs to understand marketing, have negotiation skills, and maintain good relationships with distributors. It's a continuous effort to ensure our cooperative's products can stand firm on the shelves. Although it takes a lot of effort, seeing our products being well-received by consumers motivates us to expand our scale and improve our techniques." The presence of Tuan Linh Cooperative's products enriches the supply for supermarkets, affirming the increasingly important role of local production facilities in building Vietnamese brands.
It is evident that supermarkets in the province have been playing a crucial "bridging" role in the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign. Not only do they provide a diverse range of quality goods, but they also contribute to promoting local products and supporting businesses and cooperatives in expanding their markets. This helps boost the local economy and builds strong consumer confidence in domestic products.
