Photo Contest on achievements in building "bright - green - clean" urban areas

(NADS) - On July 20, Tra Vinh Literature and Arts Association organized the photo judging of the 25th Traditional Art Photography Contest of the province in 2024.

The winning authors took souvenir photos with the organizers and judges of the contest.

After more than 04 months of launching and receiving photos (from March 14 to July 15), the Organizing Committee of the Contest received 331 color and black and white photos from 31 authors (an increase of 113 photos and 19 authors compared to 2023). Of which, 08 authors are Central members, 08 authors are local members and 15 young authors.

The content of the photos in the contest shows the process of industrialization and modernization in production, new rural construction, landscapes, homeland, people, cultural characteristics, labor production in Tra Vinh homeland and expanding to the Mekong Delta region. In particular, works on tourism activities, promoting new and beautiful images of Tra Vinh, on the results of the campaign "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style", on "Homeland's sea and islands" and environmental protection, ... are encouraged.

After 3 rounds of online photo judging, the jury selected 51 photos (48 color photos, 3 black and white photos; 6 photo series, 45 single photos) from 20 authors to enter the exhibition round and publicly judge to select the award set.

As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded 11 prizes to outstanding works. Of which, the work “Bio Blue Vietnam - the top choice for all shrimp ponds” by author Lam Huu Phuc won the first prize; 02 works “Good books need readers” by author Nguyen Van Tho and “Afternoon at the construction site” by author Lam Dieu Trung won the second prize; 03 third prizes went to the works “New Day” by author Duong Van Huong, “The profession of shaping the land” by author Lam Dieu Trung and “Hop Dien” by author Ho Hoang Giang along with 05 consolation prizes.

According to the jury's assessment: the quantity and quality of works participating in this year's contest met the requirements, with many photos of good color, reasonable layout, beautiful perspective, suitable for the theme, contributing to promoting the images of Tra Vinh homeland.
