Rectifying activities of transporting tourists to visit Mui Dinh sand hill

On the afternoon of March 14, Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuan Nam district, said: The People's Committee of the district is coordinating to handle the Jeep overturning incident at Mui Dinh sand hill, Son Hai 2 village, Phuoc Dinh commune, Thuan Nam district, which injured 5 tourists and to rectify tourism activities in this area.

Previously, on February 26, 2025, 5 Korean tourists participated in a tour to visit Mui Dinh sand dunes organized by Good Day Venaja Co., Ltd. (Nha Trang). At about 1:00 p.m., the group of tourists was taken to the Mui Dinh Jeep Tour business location, then used a Jeep to move up the sand dunes. At 2:10 p.m., while moving downhill, the Jeep suddenly overturned, injuring 5 tourists. Victim Kwon Yena suffered serious injuries to her face and spine, unable to move, while the remaining 4 people suffered minor injuries to their arms and legs. After the accident, Ms. Kwon Yena was treated at Ninh Thuan Provincial General Hospital, then taken to Nha Trang for further treatment, spending 250 million VND. The Mui Dinh Jeep Tour business household provided 150 million VND in support.

When going downhill, the Jeep overturned, injuring 5 people in the car.

Ms. Tran Thi Man, Vice Chairwoman of Phuoc Dinh Commune People's Committee, said: After the accident, both units did not report to the local authorities. Currently, the Commune Police have received a complaint from Mr. Kim Yonghak (one of the injured tourists), compiled a file and took statements from the relevant parties. The local authorities have also directed the Commune Police to coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to work with the Jeep driver and Good Day Venaja Company Limited to clarify the responsibilities of the parties. At the same time, there is a plan to inspect and rectify tourism business activities in the Mui Dinh sand dunes area, ensuring safety for tourists.
