Approval of investment policy to expand and upgrade Ca Mau Airport

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just signed Decision No. 1188/QD-TTg approving the investment policy of the Ca Mau Airport Expansion and Upgrade Project (Project).

Investment in expanding and upgrading Ca Mau Airport

The project's objective is to invest in the construction, expansion and upgrading of Ca Mau Airport to ensure the operation of A320, A321 and equivalent aircraft; create momentum for economic, cultural and social development, while ensuring national security and defense of Ca Mau province and the region. Vietnam Airports Corporation - JSC (ACV) is the project investor. The project's investment capital is about VND 2,400 billion, using 100% of ACV's equity. Project scale: Construction of a new runway measuring 2,400 m × 45 m, ensuring the operation of A320, A321 and equivalent aircraft; construction of a taxiway connecting the runway to the aircraft parking lot measuring 128 m × 15 m, with a material shoulder on each side of 5 m and 05 waiting taxiways; Construct an aircraft parking lot in the southern area with dimensions of 182 m × 112.5 m, 5 m wide material curb, meeting the exploitation of 03 parking positions A320, A321 and equivalent. Renovate and expand the existing passenger terminal to reach a capacity of 500,000 passengers/year (can be expanded to ensure exploitation of 1 million passengers/year when needed). The construction area of ​​the passenger terminal is about 2,668 m ² , the total construction floor area is about 4,200 m ² , 02 floors, the height of the building is about 9.5 m. Construct a number of other synchronous auxiliary works such as traffic roads connecting the new aircraft parking lot to the passenger terminal area, off-site parking lot, fire emergency station, security fence system, synchronous belt road.

Ensure project implementation complies with environmental protection regulations

The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the People's Committee of Ca Mau province to allocate land according to the planning, land use plan and airport planning approved by competent state agencies to implement the Project in accordance with the provisions of the law on land. Inspect and supervise the implementation of the Project by ACV in accordance with the provisions of law, the direction of the Prime Minister and the opinions of relevant ministries and branches, including: inspecting and supervising the capital mobilization of ACV according to the progress of the Project. The People's Committee of Ca Mau province coordinates with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to direct ACV to carry out the procedures for assessing the environmental impact of the Project in accordance with the provisions of the law on environmental protection. At the same time, ensure that the implementation of the Project complies with the provisions of the law on environmental protection. Coordinate with the Ministry of Finance and direct relevant units and guide ACV to implement tax incentives and related policies in accordance with the provisions of current law; Coordinate to promptly resolve difficulties in the process of organizing and implementing the Project. The Ministry of Transport coordinates and guides ACV in reviewing and completing the Project dossier in the step of preparing the Project Feasibility Study Report, ensuring safe flight methods, maximizing the role and efficiency of the Project investment. Organize the implementation of specialized state management functions for the Project during the process of implementing investment and managing the exploitation and use of Ca Mau Airport according to the provisions of law. ACV is responsible before the law for the legality, accuracy and honesty of the information, reported data, proposed content in the project dossier and reports sent to competent state agencies; responsible for the investment efficiency, use, preservation and development of state capital, and financial efficiency of the Project according to the provisions of law.
