They are Pho Phuong at 25 Hoang Sa (District 1) and Pho Hoang at 460 Nguyen Tri Phuong (District 10). The two restaurants caused a stir when they were recently named by Michelin Guide in the Bib Gourmand 2025 category (delicious restaurant, affordable price), marking 3 consecutive years on this prestigious list.
2 restaurants honored, big family happy
Among the 7 pho restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City that have just been included in the Bib Gourmand category by Michelin Guide this year, include Pho Chao, Pho Hoang (Nguyen Tri Phuong Street), Pho Huong Binh, Pho Le, Pho Minh, Pho Phuong and Pho Mien Ga Ky Dong and 2 restaurants owned by two sisters, Pho Phuong and Pho Hoang.

Accordingly, Pho Phuong restaurant is owned by Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Phuong (59 years old), which she opened for more than 40 years, since she was just a young girl of about 18 years old. Sharing with Thanh Nien about the third consecutive time being listed by Michelin, the owner smiled and said that this was not only her joy, but also the joy of her whole family.
"My family has 3 different pho restaurants, in District 1, District 3, District 10, of which 2 restaurants, Pho Phuong and Pho Hoang, have been honored by Michelin for 3 consecutive years. What an honor! Thanks to Michelin's recognition, over the years, the restaurant, which was already crowded, has received even more support from customers," the owner shared.
At the recent Michelin Guide 2025 announcement ceremony in Da Nang , her family sent two granddaughters to attend the event. Looking at the pictures sent by the grandchildren from the ceremony, she was both happy and proud.

After 3 years of being honored, Ms. Phuong said that the price of pho at the restaurant still fluctuates between 75,000 - 115,000 VND. This price has been maintained by the restaurant for the past 2 years. The restaurant is open from 5:30 am to 8:30 pm every day, except Mondays when it opens until 2 pm.
A regular customer living in District 1, not far from Pho Phuong, said this is his "favorite" restaurant. Having moved to this area for nearly 2 years, he often visits the restaurant not only because of the quality of the food but also because of Ms. Phuong's service attitude and cheerful, generous personality.
Pho Phuong and Pho Hoang are "from the same house", do they taste the same?
Not only Pho Phuong, after the announcement of Michelin Guide 2025, we went to Pho Hoang restaurant and were not too surprised when the table was full of customers. Mr. Hoang Van Khai (64 years old), Ms. Phuong's brother-in-law, and also the owner of the restaurant, warmly greeted us.

"Born later" than Pho Phuong, having opened for business nearly 20 years now, Mr. Khai said the restaurant is the passion of him and his wife, Ms. Phuong Hoang. The word Hoang in the restaurant's name is both his last name and his wife's first name.
"Before, I had another job, but then fate brought me to open a pho restaurant. The recognition from Michelin over the past 3 years is not only a joy but also a motivation for the restaurant to try harder to serve customers," the owner said with a gentle smile.
Although "from the same house", Pho Hoang costs from 60,000 VND - 80,000 VND/bowl. Besides, according to Mr. Khai, the flavor of the broth used to make Pho is the same, but each restaurant has a slightly different way of seasoning, so when customers come to eat, they will feel the difference in the broth as well as the ingredients used.
Pho Hoang in Ho Chi Minh City has been around for nearly 20 years.
