Spending nearly 22 billion VND to supplement funding for extra tutoring and graduation exam preparation

(Dan Tri) - Nearly 22 billion VND will be spent by Thanh Hoa province to support extra tutoring and graduation exam review for 9th and 12th grade students in the whole province in 2025.

On May 29, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province issued a decision approving additional budget estimates for extra teaching and review for graduation exams for grade 9 (junior high school) and grade 12 (high school) in the province in 2025.

The total estimated cost of implementation is over VND21.8 billion. Of which, over VND11.9 billion will be directly allocated to secondary and high schools under the Departmentof Education and Training.

The remaining amount, more than VND9.9 billion, will be allocated to the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to provide to secondary schools and Vocational Education - Continuing Education Centers under local management.

This funding source is taken from the education, training and vocational training expenditure source in the provincial budget estimate for 2025. This funding also includes the cost of recruiting contract teachers according to Decree No. 111/2022/ND-CP dated December 30, 2022 of the Government , along with a number of educational policies and regimes and other arising tasks.

The decision also clearly states the responsibilities of relevant departments, agencies and sectors. The Department of Finance is assigned full responsibility before the law, the Provincial People's Committee and inspection, examination and auditing agencies for the accuracy, legality, approval authority as well as ensuring the conditions, standards and norms in accordance with regulations.

The Department of Finance is also responsible for notifying and disseminating this decision and guiding units in managing and using funds to ensure compliance with current regulations.

The Department of Education and Training is responsible for regularly monitoring, guiding, inspecting, and supervising extra teaching and learning in the province; handling according to its authority or requesting competent authorities to handle violations (if any) regarding extra teaching and learning according to regulations.

The People's Committees of districts, towns, cities and educational institutions that are provided with additional funds are responsible for managing and using the allocated funds in accordance with the regime, policies, conditions, standards, norms, objectives, and targets, ensuring savings, efficiency, publicity, transparency, preventing loss and waste, and making payments and settlements in accordance with current regulations. Heads of units must be responsible before the law and the Provincial People's Committee for their decisions.
