On the morning of May 26, information from the Ha Tinh Maritime Port Authority said that the unit is still actively coordinating with related units and local authorities to search for missing crew members due to the sinking of the Cong Thanh 07 ship that occurred on the evening of May 25 in the Vung Ang sea area (Ky Anh, Ha Tinh province).
Accordingly, at 8:40 p.m. on May 25, the Ha Tinh Maritime Port Authority received a distress call from the Cong Thanh 07 ship about the ship's engine failure, tilting, and water pouring in. At the time of the accident, the ship was in Ha Tinh waters, about 9 nautical miles from Vung Ang port.

Upon receiving the information, Ha Tinh Maritime Port Authority coordinated with the Border Guard Command of Vung Ang - Son Duong Port (Ha Tinh Border Guard) and related units to deploy many means to organize rescue.
However, due to the bad weather in Ha Tinh in recent days, although the rescue team has deployed plans, it is very difficult to approach. At about 9:30 p.m. on May 25, the Cong Thanh 07 ship sank, and the crew jumped off the ship. The location of the sunken ship was determined to be 18°06′53 North latitude, 106°30′30 East longitude.
Immediately after the incident, the authorities and fishing boats tried to search for the crew members, however, due to big waves and strong winds, the search was very difficult. At around 5:45 a.m. on May 26, the fishing boat found a crew member of the Cong Thanh 07 drifting at sea and helped bring him ashore.
Initial information is known, the ship Cong Thanh 07 has a capacity of nearly 5,200 tons, carrying 4,900 tons of coal from Quang Ninh to Quang Binh , with 11 crew members on board. Up to now, the search and rescue is still being urgently deployed, 10 crew members have not been found yet.
Expanding the search area, the Border Guard Command of Vung Ang - Son Duong Port (Ha Tinh Border Guard) coordinated with the Border Guard force of Quang Binh to search for the missing sailors at sea in Vung Ang.
Two key projects in Vung Ang are behind schedule for many years.
