Market 4.0, also known as technology market, is a form of buyers and sellers using technology applications to pay for purchases and sales right at the market without the need for cash by scanning QR codes or transferring money via phone numbers on the Viettel Money application. This is a payment platform applied online right on mobile devices, allowing users to make all payment transactions anytime, anywhere, helping to save time and ensure financial security for customers.
To shorten the gap between “traditional” and “modern”, in 2022, Viettel Vinh Phuc launched the program “Go to the technology market - Let Viettel Money take care of it” through the 4.0 market model in some markets of 7/9 districts and cities in the province. Up to now, the model has spread to many traditional markets in rural areas, helping people experience superior payment services, gradually narrowing the gap between urban and rural areas, bringing safety to users in financial transactions.
As one of the first traders at the Yen Lac Town Market - Trade Center (Yen Lac) to be supported by Viettel Vinh Phuc, installing free applications to deploy the 4.0 market model, Ms. Duong Thi Oanh, who specializes in selling clothes, said: With a convenient and simple payment method, the 4.0 market model has brought benefits to both buyers and sellers. Buyers are very secure in keeping money, do not have to prepare small change to pay back, and sellers can transact anytime, anywhere without fear of forgetting cash and ensuring safety, without fear of confusion for both parties.
“The 4.0 market model not only brings benefits to customers when paying but also many useful incentives for traders, with no limit on the value and number of transactions. Even when the customer's phone does not have an internet connection, they can still pay by entering the code on the phone. Thereby, helping traders expand their trading channels, promote business, and increase income" - Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong, Head of the Market Management Board, Yen Lac Town Trade Center shared.
As a key industrial district, attracting investment, with many bustling business and trading activities, in recent times, Binh Xuyen district has been determined in implementing digital transformation, applying information technology in all fields and industries. Thanks to that, local people, especially small traders in the markets, have soon applied digital technology in their business and trading activities.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thao, Head of Market Management Board, Binh Xuyen Trade Center said: Immediately after the 4.0 market was deployed, the traders were satisfied, actively responded and used it because of the benefits it brought.
Currently, 50% of stalls at the market participate in the 4.0 market model and 80% of customers shopping at the market choose electronic payment by transferring money via phone number on Viettel Money application, scanning QR code at the stall, and transferring money.
Promoting cashless payments, in the coming time, the Market Management Board will increase propaganda and encourage people to apply modern payments in buying and selling transactions, contributing to the construction of a digital society and digital government in the area.
Contributing to spreading the digital technology market, actively building digital government, digital economy and digital society in the area, Viettel Vinh Phuc is coordinating with Hop Chau town (Tam Dao) to implement a comprehensive digital transformation model in the locality.
Along with the digital transformation of public sector projects; developing collection and payment units, the town will build two cashless streets in Doi Cao Street and Hop Chau Street. At the same time, consulting and introducing the payment method using Viettel Money QR code for businesses and small traders; supporting account opening, software installation and QR code publications for businesses and small traders; instructing people to pay for goods by scanning QR codes.
This will be the premise and opportunity for the 4.0 market in particular and digital technology in general to spread in Hop Chau town and communes in Tam Dao district, realizing the goal of digital transformation in the area.
With many dual benefits such as easy, convenient, fast and accurate payment, currently, localities and Market Management Boards in the area are actively promoting and encouraging traders and customers to actively apply non-cash payments in buying and selling transactions, contributing to the goal of achieving by 2023, revenue exchanged via e-commerce accounting for about 10% - 10.5% of total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in the area.
