Due to flooding, many households lost electricity and gas, so instant and processed foods became the preferred choice. Grocery stores and mini supermarkets in high places recorded a significant increase in the number of customers buying these items compared to normal days.
A vendor at Ben Ngu market said that his house is on high ground and is not flooded, so he still takes advantage of the opportunity to bring his goods to the market to sell. Despite the floods, his goods sell very well. The products he sells are all homegrown, so he tries not to increase the prices so as not to put pressure on customers during difficult times like now.
