Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Quang Trung presided over the meeting of the Provincial Election Committee.

(laichau.gov.vn) This afternoon (December 10th), Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Quang Trung - Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee - chaired a meeting of the Provincial Election Committee to implement preparations for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

Attending the meeting were Comrade Tong Thanh Hai - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee; Le Duc Duc - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Nguyen Sy Canh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee; and members of the Provincial Election Committee.

According to the Department of Internal Affairs' report, from the issuance of Plan No. 02/KH-UBBC dated November 26, 2025, to December 10, 2025, election preparations were implemented synchronously and in accordance with regulations. The Provincial Party Standing Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Election Committee issued all necessary guiding and operational documents; decisions on the establishment of provincial-level election organizations, assignment of tasks, working regulations, and training plans. The entire province has completed the establishment of commune-level election committees and election steering committees in all 38/38 communes and wards, with a total of 626 members. Subcommittees and support teams at the provincial and commune levels have been strengthened, ensuring the implementation of tasks within the legally stipulated timeframe.

The Director of the Department of Internal Affairs reported on the progress of implementation at the meeting.

The propaganda work was implemented uniformly. The provincial information and propaganda agencies developed implementation plans in accordance with the guidelines of the Central Government and the Provincial Party Committee, focusing on publicizing the purpose and significance of the election, the criteria for delegates, and related documents.

Regarding training activities, the province broadcast the Political Bureau's Directive to 6,789 delegates at various locations; and organized a training conference on election procedures on December 1, 2025, for 4,226 delegates at the provincial and commune levels. The first consultation process was implemented, ensuring the requirements were met and unifying the structure, composition, and number of candidates nominated for the 16th National Assembly and the Provincial People's Council for the 2026-2031 term.

Comrade Le Duc Duc, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, delivered a speech at the meeting.

At the meeting, members of the Provincial Election Committee focused on discussing the assignment of tasks to committee members; the progress of key tasks in the coming period, including a proposal to select a professional and experienced support staff; reviewing all documents to ensure no tasks are overlooked; conducting inspections and closely monitoring the grassroots level to promptly resolve complex issues and ensure security and order at the local level; doing a good job of disseminating information and mobilizing the people to create consensus; and ensuring communication at the grassroots level, especially at polling stations.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Ha Quang Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee - requested that agencies and units continue to closely monitor progress and strictly implement tasks as prescribed; that members of the Election Committee closely coordinate with functional agencies to thoroughly understand the situation in their respective areas, promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles, and ensure security and order. In addition, close coordination is required in advising and preparing documents and ensuring the democratic, safe, and lawful organization of the election.

Immediately after the meeting, the Standing Committee is requested to incorporate the opinions expressed by delegates at the meeting to finalize the content, report, and submit it to the competent authority as prescribed. Members of the Election Committee should promptly coordinate to address the opinions and suggestions of the people; study relevant documents to determine and announce the number of delegates to be elected; adjust the structure and allocation of candidates; and strengthen security and order throughout the events: New Year's Day, the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam; Lunar New Year; the National Assembly elections and the elections of People's Council representatives at all levels.
