(BTV) On the morning of January 5, Comrade Vuong Quoc Tuan, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected and urged the construction progress of the Kenh Vang Bridge project in Luong Tai district. Accompanying him was Comrade Ngo Tan Phuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
Golden Canal Bridge Construction Investment Project
The investment project to build the Kenh Vang bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge, connecting the two provinces of Bac Ninh and Hai Duong, has a route length of about 13.4 km in the areas of Luong Tai and Gia Binh districts (Bac Ninh province) and Nam Sach (Hai Duong province) invested by the Bac Ninh Transport Construction Project Management Board and the Department of Transport. The construction project includes the Kenh Vang bridge, 740 m long, 23.5 m wide, designed as a permanent structure, with a prestressed reinforced concrete structure; the approach roads at both ends of the bridge are 12.6 km long, with a road surface width of 15 m. The total cost is more than VND 2,182 billion. The construction work is divided into 2 packages: Package No. 14, construction of Kenh Vang bridge and the route from the starting point of the project at km 0+00 to km 6+625.44; Package No. 15, construction of the section from km 6+625.44 to km 13+396.23 in Nam Sach district (Hai Duong). Up to this point, contractors are carrying out 6 construction phases for Package No. 14, handling weak soil and filling the foundation, digging molds, and creating a flat surface along the entire length of the route; it is expected to complete the construction of the grade I crushed stone aggregate layer before the Lunar New Year for some sections with flat surface. Regarding the bridge, bored pile drilling is underway on the approach bridge and the main Bac Ninh bridge.

Regarding site clearance, up to now, the compensation plan for the Bac Ninh area has been established and approved, and compensation costs have been paid for about 96% of the area. In Trung Kenh commune, Luong Tai district, there are still about 3,204.9m2 of land that has not been recovered from 14 households and individuals in Tao Hoa village due to problems with some regulations on organizing compensation and support for site clearance (GPMB). Some construction areas pass through technical infrastructure systems of electricity, clean water, telecommunications, etc., waiting for the GPMB councils of localities to count and plan for relocation... The project investor recommends that the Steering Committee for compensation, support and resettlement of Bac Ninh province and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment soon have a plan to organize and implement compensation for the remaining land area within the project scope.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan emphasized that the Kenh Vang Bridge project is a regional transport project, playing an important role in promoting the socio -economic development of the two provinces of Bac Ninh and Hai Duong, a project to welcome the 21st Provincial Party Congress and the Luong Tai District Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term. Therefore, the province's guiding viewpoint is to focus the most, resolutely, and synchronously, ensuring the progress, quality, technique, and aesthetics of the project, determined to technically close the bridge in September 2025 and complete the entire project before December 31, 2026, 1 year ahead of schedule.
Regarding difficulties and problems, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Transport to proactively coordinate with relevant units and localities to focus on resolving them, promptly report to the Provincial People's Committee on matters beyond its authority, and absolutely not let subjective factors affect the project's progress. In the immediate future, coordinate with the Nam Sach District People's Committee to complete site clearance for the Hai Duong province bridge approach road to start construction on January 15, 2025.
