To achieve that result, the Regiment has inherited and promoted the lessons learned through 60 years of building, fighting, and growing; at the same time, promoted training according to the motto "3 realities".

The training session on the topic "Infantry platoon opens the gate to capture the bridgehead" of Company 6, Battalion 8, Regiment 3 began. According to the agreed plan, the units quickly maneuvered to take up positions, and practiced firing to support the infantry to open the gate to capture the bridgehead. Each infantry platoon, according to the mission, crossed the gate and practiced attacking the enemy... Although the training ground was still wet after the heavy rain, the footsteps were still hurriedly maneuvering, the troops took advantage of the terrain and terrain to quickly approach the target...

While the training atmosphere was in full swing, the whistle suddenly sounded to stop the training. The unit commander went to each unit to reorganize and guide the soldiers to perform technical movements close to the combat situation. Major Dinh Van Toan, Battalion Commander of Battalion 8, said: “In tactical training, we not only focus on the practical skills of each soldier, the ability to coordinate within the squad, but also train the awareness of enemy situation and physical strength of the troops to maneuver quickly, in the right combat situation. These experiences were flexibly applied by the unit from the Regiment's battle tactics during the resistance years.”

One of the tactics that drew many lessons for officers and soldiers of Regiment 3 to apply in training and exercises was from the battle at Hoa Lu base in the Nguyen Hue Campaign in 1972. According to the combat plan of the superiors, Regiment 3 undertook the main attack direction of the campaign, attacking Hoa Lu base - an important base on the northern defense line of the enemy's Loc Ninh stronghold. Although the enemy's equipment and firepower were very strong and modern, with a spirit of ingenuity and bravery, each soldier performed individual movements skillfully; the squad moved quickly, coordinated closely; and commanded creatively and decisively to handle situations, Regiment 3, together with friendly units, destroyed the enemy's Armored Regiment No. 1, making an important contribution to liberating Loc Ninh. With this achievement, Regiment 3 was awarded the Third Class Liberation Military Exploit Medal and the title "Hoa Lu Regiment" by the Central Office of Southern Vietnam and the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam.

Captain Dao Trong Tiem, Deputy Battalion Commander of Battalion 7, shared: "Experience from combat shows that we must actively train our bravery, train soldiers to be proficient in individual movements to act confidently, operate accurately, shorten the time to perform tasks, and contribute to the overall victory of the unit."

Skilled individual movements are a mandatory requirement for each soldier when practicing tactical and technical content. To practice individual movements, the Party Committee and the Regiment Commander require the direct training officers to accurately perform sample movements, provide detailed instructions and correct them right on the training ground; at the same time, organize rotational training, increase the number of officers following and guiding the soldiers. At the end of the training session, comments and experience must be given to each soldier to ensure consistency in content, methods and practice movements. To do so, officers must be thoroughly trained, have lesson plans prepared, strictly approved, focus on practice movements and training methods, and maintain practice. According to Major Ngo Manh Hung, Battalion Commander of Battalion 9, this year, the unit organized an air bullet shooting test at the infantry squad level, so it is necessary to strengthen the training of practical skills for soldiers. Officers from squads and above must closely follow the soldiers, provide specific instructions, and avoid mistakes that lead to unsafety and failure to complete the task. During the inspection process, the unit attaches importance to evaluating the actual training results, as a basis for drawing experience for soldiers to progress and mature.

Along with individual movement training, Regiment 3 focuses on improving the level of squad coordination and physical training of soldiers. In reality, physical fitness is one of the important factors that directly affects the training and practice process of the unit, especially with the contents that require endurance, such as: General round drills, competitions, sports and practical training of tactical forms. The Party Committee and Command of Regiment 3 require agencies and units to strengthen physical training for soldiers through many measures: Swimming, marching with heavy loads, endurance running, chin-ups, weightlifting and military sports activities... Additional training for weak contents and weak soldiers is organized on days off, break time, with officers accompanying and directly "holding hands" so that soldiers can learn practically and make substantial progress.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quoc Huy, Commander of Regiment 3, emphasized: "All solutions are aimed at improving the quality of training and combat readiness of the unit. The Regiment always attaches importance to training direction according to the motto "3 realities" (real teaching, real learning, real testing and evaluation of results). For difficult contents and important practice exercises, the Regiment organizes filming and showing them to officers and soldiers; on that basis, apply them to properly perform their duties, individual movements and team coordination, contributing to the successful completion of tasks, and enhancing the tradition of "Solidarity, bravery, self-reliance, self-strengthening, going is victory, fighting is complete destruction" of the heroic Hoa Lu Regiment".
