The defendants include: Phung Thi Hong (born in 1990, residing in Khang Ninh commune, Ba Be district, Bac Kan province), Chu Thi Lien (born in 1994, residing in Sub-district 2, Cho Ra town, Ba Be district, Bac Kan province) and Lo Thi Phai (born in 1991, residing in Nghia Son commune, Van Chan district, Yen Bai province).

According to the indictment, around December 2022, the defendants exchanged agreements and received money from clients seeking prostitution services within the premises of the Phja Boóc guesthouse in Sub-district 7, Chợ Rã town, Ba Bể district, to engage in prostitution.
In this case, the prosecuting authorities determined that Phung Thi Hong, as a receptionist assigned to manage and arrange the rooms of the guesthouse for customers seeking prostitution, was prosecuted for the crime of "Harboring prostitution".
Defendants Chu Thi Lien and Lo Thi Phai, employees of a beverage shop within the guesthouse premises, acted as intermediaries, negotiated agreements, and directly received money from those seeking prostitution services, facilitating prostitution between buyers and sellers at the Phja Booc guesthouse. Therefore, they are being prosecuted for the crime of "Brokering prostitution".
The court sentenced defendant Phung Thi Hong to 5 years in prison; defendant Chu Thi Lien to 3 years in prison; and defendant Lo Thi Phai to 6 months in prison; each defendant was also fined an additional 10 million VND to be deposited into the state treasury.
