Attending the meeting were Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Vo Van Hung, representatives of units under the Ministry; departments and branches of Hanoi city and representatives of associations, craft village associations, and domestic handicraft associations.
Large-scale event, honoring the value of traditional Vietnamese crafts

According to the joint plan No. 185/KHLT-UBND-BNNMT, signed on July 12, 2025 between the Hanoi People's Committee and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the 2025 International Craft Village Conservation and Development Festival is expected to take place from November 14 to 18, 2025 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Relic Site (Hanoi). This is the largest international event ever in the craft village sector, aiming to honor, promote and foster the development of traditional craft values in the context of integration.
 Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Xuan Dai said that the Festival has a scale of more than 4,000m², with 350 booths, divided into 5 spaces including: Conservation space; Development space; OCOP and culinary space; International space and "Hanoi Flower Festival" space.
 Up to now, the Department has invited communes and wards in the area to participate in exhibitions, performances and creations at the Festival; 125 organizations and individuals have registered to participate. In addition, 4 communes and wards including Bat Trang, Ha Dong, Son Dong and Chuyen My will represent the capital to exhibit, perform and coordinate to welcome international guests. These are also 4 localities with craft villages that have been or are being nominated for recognition as world creative craft villages.
 Along with that, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has coordinated with the Vietnam Handicraft Exporters Association (Vietcraft) to invite international organizations to attend. To date, 50 international organizations have confirmed their participation, including 20 leaders of the World Craft Council, along with representatives of provinces and members of the World Creative Craft Cities Network from 30 countries and territories.
 In addition, the Ministry and the Hanoi People's Committee have also sent invitations to 33 provinces and cities in the country. Currently, 18 localities have registered to participate with a total of 77 booths, including 20 craft village preservation booths, 44 development booths, 1 "Net Zero" booth and 3 booths introducing craft village tourism.
Affirming Hanoi's position on the world handicraft map

 Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen emphasized that this Festival needs to have a clear and unified message, both demonstrating the spirit of preserving and developing craft villages and affirming the position of Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general on the world handicraft map.
 The Vice Chairman requested the City People's Committee Office to urgently issue documents assigning and urging departments, branches and localities to carry out assigned tasks; the Department of Agriculture and Environment to promptly complete official invitations to send to international delegates, ministries, branches, provinces and cities.
 Mr. Nguyen Manh Quyen requested that preparations must be thoughtful down to the smallest detail, such as ensuring smooth internet and wifi connection to serve the people and tourists; at the same time, building a continuous program of activities so that the Festival is truly a series of attractive cultural - economic - tourism events with strong influence.
The City leaders also assigned units to research and design the content of specialized seminars, focusing on the issues of planning, preserving and developing craft villages in the new period; at the same time, regularly maintain promotional activities, connecting the consumption of craft village products, towards sustainable development.
 Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen affirmed: "Hanoi's policy is not only to develop craft villages, but also to reach out to the world. In the coming time, the City will continue to perfect the program, elevate the Festival to become an annual activity with an international mark, and at the same time hope that experts, artisans, and associations will contribute ideas to refine the program worthy of the Creative Capital."
 Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Vo Van Hung emphasized that this is the largest international event ever in the field of craft villages. The Festival does not only stop at promoting and introducing but also aims at a long-term strategy, becoming an annual activity contributing to spreading the cultural values of traditional Vietnamese crafts to the world.
 The Deputy Minister requested units to step up propaganda work, and affirmed that the Ministry will closely coordinate with the Hanoi People's Committee to ensure the most thoughtful, professional and effective preparation work.
