Preparing to start the project to upgrade the main road of the urban center of Long Thanh Airport

(DN) - On August 6, Chairman of Long Thanh Commune People's Committee Le Hoang Son said: The project to upgrade and expand Le Duan Street (National Highway 51A), Long Thanh Commune, Dong Nai Province is about to start construction. The project is expected to start on August 8.

The Le Duan Street Upgrade and Expansion Project has a total length of nearly 5km, from Km16+700 to Km21+600.

The project will be divided into 2 sections for upgrading and expansion: Section 1 from the North bow to the intersection with Vu Hong Pho Street with a road width of 46m; Section 2 from the intersection with Vu Hong Pho Street to the South bow with a road width of 32m. The design speed for the entire route is 60km/h, ensuring high traffic requirements in the urban area.

The project belongs to group B, urban road standard type I. This is a route with the function of connecting inter-regions, serving the movement between residential areas, industrial zones, large-scale public centers and especially the future Long Thanh International Airport.

Upon completion, Le Duan Street will become the main inner-city axis, connecting Long Thanh Commune with satellite communes and surrounding areas. Project Management Board of Region 5 is the unit assigned as the project investor.

According to experts, upgrading and expanding Le Duan Street is one of the strategic steps to anticipate the urban formation of Long Thanh Airport, which is positioned as a key economic and service center in the South. This will increase traffic connections and attract investment.

Long Thanh commune was established on the basis of merging the entire area and population of Long Thanh town and 3 communes: Loc An, Binh Son, Long An . Long Thanh airport, the largest in the country, is currently being invested in and built in Long Thanh commune. Therefore, Long Thanh commune is also planned to become a "core" commune in the urban development orientation of Long Thanh airport of the province.
