(Dan Tri Newspaper) - After several days of strong price increases, mining stocks are now showing divergence. Some stocks hit the floor limit, some declined, and only a few reached the ceiling limit.
On February 18th, the market was dominated by green, with many stocks trading positively. During the morning session, the VN-Index briefly surpassed the 1,280-point mark, supported by the VN30 group.
However, towards the end of the session, the inflow of money into the market slowed down, many key stocks cooled down their price increases, and the VN-Index closed at 1,278.14 points, up 5.42 points. On the HoSE exchange, gainers outnumbered gainers, with over 293 stocks rising. On the HNX exchange, a similar trend occurred with 108 stocks rising and only 77 stocks falling.
Among the VN30 group of blue-chip stocks, only BVH surged to its ceiling price of 57,300 VND/unit, with no sellers. The trading volume exceeded 2.2 million shares.
After a series of days of simultaneous price increases that attracted attention, the mining sector stocks showed divergence today. Some stocks maintained their ceiling price increases, such as BKC, MGC, and FCM. Conversely, some stocks declined, such as KCB, MSR, MTA, and BMC, while others hit their floor price, such as HGM, KSV, and AAH.

In today's trading session, steel sector stocks unexpectedly surged, with HPG, HSG, NKG, TLH, and GDA all showing gains. Notably, the rise in HPG shares had the strongest impact on the VN-Index, with a trading volume of over 24.4 million units and a value of nearly 647 billion VND.
Several other stocks also increased, positively impacting the index, such as TCB, MBB, MWG, and STB. Conversely, the declines in LPB, PNJ, SSB, GMD, and VSC negatively affected the VN-Index. LPB, in particular, fell by 1.34%.
Foreign investors continued to net sell on the HoSE today with a value of over 199 billion VND. Some of the stocks with the strongest net selling included MWG, GMD, VNM, NLG, and PNJ. Conversely, the stocks with the strongest net buying included VCI, HPG,FPT , NVL, and EIB...
