Series of activities to celebrate 80 years of Agriculture and Environment sector

This is an important political and social event, marking the 80-year journey of construction, growth and dedication of the Agriculture and Environment sector, while affirming the strategic and pivotal role of agriculture, farmers, rural areas, resources and environment in the country's sustainable development.

Over the past 8 decades of formation and development, the Agriculture and Environment sector has always been an important pillar of the national economy , contributing to ensuring food security and livelihoods of tens of millions of people, protecting natural resources, biodiversity and ecological balance.

Whether during war, the period of renovation or the period of deep international integration, the industry has always been closely linked and supported each other between the two fields of agriculture and the environment, affirming the role of "support" of the economy, the foundation of sustainable development and social stability.

The 80th anniversary is an opportunity for the entire industry to review the glorious tradition, pay tribute to generations of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers who have contributed; at the same time, arouse the spirit of innovation, creativity and aspiration to rise up in the new period - the period of green transformation, development of ecological agriculture, circular economy and sustainable growth associated with environmental protection.

According to the plan of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the series of events celebrating the 80th anniversary will take place from July to December 2025, with many diverse activities spreading widely across the country.

The focus is on the 80th Anniversary of the Agriculture and Environment Sector and the 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress, held on the morning of November 12, 2025 at the National Convention Center, Hanoi, with the participation of more than 1,200 delegates - including leaders of the Party, State, Government, National Assembly, former leaders of the Ministry, international guests and advanced models in the whole sector.

In addition, the Exhibition of 80 years of achievements in the Agriculture and Environment sector, held in the lobby on the first floor of the National Convention Center, introduced the outstanding marks of the sector through the periods, scientific and technological achievements, typical production models, with the participation of many large enterprises and industry associations, demonstrating the spirit of innovation, integration and green development of the Agriculture and Environment sector of Vietnam.

Along with that, the ceremony of attaching welcome signs at Phu Sa Pumping Station (Hanoi) and Tho Quang Fishing Port (Da Nang) demonstrated the spirit of emulation and creative work for the common development of the country.
Along with political and social activities, the Ministry has directed to promote propaganda and communication work on press, television and digital platforms, aiming to spread the traditional values, achievements and development orientation of the industry in the new period.

As of early November 2025, the content, logistics, propaganda, emulation and reward subcommittees have completed the entire organization plan, ensuring progress, solemnity and efficiency.

With the motto "Tradition - Innovation - Development - Sustainability", the 80th Anniversary of the Agriculture and Environment sector is not only an occasion to pay tribute to generations who have contributed, but also a milestone to open a new stage of development - towards ecological agriculture, modern countryside, civilized farmers, associated with effective and sustainable management, exploitation and protection of resources and environment.

Promoting the glorious 80-year tradition, the whole industry continues to promote patriotic emulation, innovate management thinking, apply science and technology, digital transformation, contributing to building a rich, green and happy country, realizing the aspiration of "a strong, prosperous, green and sustainable Vietnam".

Along with that, the 6th Agricultural and Rural Development Economic Journalism Award - 2025, with the theme "Vietnam's agriculture and environment enter a new era", aims to honor typical journalistic works reflecting the green transition and sustainable development process.
