Talking about the story of love of marine soldiers, we must mention the story of the soldiers of DK1 platform (DK1 Battalion, Command of Naval Region 2).

With the task of having to stay at the forefront of the wind and waves, the working time of the officers and soldiers on the rig is usually at least 1 year continuously on the island. Being close to their loved ones is a luxury for them. The love story of the soldiers on the rig is a longing between the sea and the mainland, as vast as the song of the distant island: "Sending to the mainland a sail full of love". The special gift the wife gave the soldiers on the rig Before boarding the ship to join the 15-day voyage to wish the soldiers on the DK1 rig a Happy New Year in early 2024 with the working delegation of the Naval Region 2 Command, we met Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Thao (38 years old) and her daughter Boi Boi (4 years old) in front of the port in Vung Tau City. Ms. Thao is the wife of Lieutenant Colonel Le Minh Tan, political commissar of the DK 1/16 rig. Knowing that the working group and reporters were preparing to depart for the DK1 platforms, she came to give her husband a gift, including a cactus pot with the image of a navy soldier and the Vietnamese national flag, along with a picture of the two of them printed in a heart-shaped frame. "We hope that Dad will be as strong as the cactus and always have us in his heart," Thao said about the meaning of the gift. The gift that Ms. Thao and her daughter sent to her husband and father, Lieutenant Colonel Le Minh Tan, who is working at the oil rig. Ms. Thao said that she met and fell in love with Mr. Tan when they were both studying in Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa). At that time, he was a student at the Naval Academy and she was studying at the Pedagogical College. They got married 14 years ago and now have a daughter. This is the second time he has been to the rig, the trip was 3 months ago, expected to last 1 year. Although she doesn't want to be away from him and sometimes feels sad when seeing families reunited during Tet, Ms. Thao said: "I am proud to have a husband who is a navy soldier, performing a sacred duty for the Fatherland". When at home, Mr. Tan is the one who often teaches Boi Boi to study, so the child is very attached to and loves her father. "Every day, she has to call her father. Once, she didn't understand because the rig didn't have internet signal to make live video calls, so she cried and demanded to see her father. Every time she misses her father, the mother and daughter take out the family photo album to look at. Tell the story of when her father was at home taking Boi Boi out to play", Ms. Thao said. Every 1-2 months, there are ships going out to the rig, Ms. Thao called to ask what necessities he needed to send out, Mr. Tan smiled and said: "I have enough here, just need to send the two of us." Taking the opportunity to meet reporters on the first day of the new year, Ms. Thao sent her best wishes to her husband and the officers and soldiers on the rig to always be healthy, steady in their guns to protect the peace of their homeland's seas. Please believe that the mothers and wives at home are always steadfast, taking care of their children, and teaching them well so that the soldiers can work with peace of mind. In the noise of the port before the ship departed, as if afraid that we would forget the address to receive the gifts, Ms. Thao said: "My husband is Lieutenant Colonel Le Minh Tan, political commissar of the DK1/16 rig...".Tan Giau and his girlfriend Quynh Nhu when they parted ways at the pier. Also at the pier before departure, we met the couple Nguyen Tan Giau and Le Thi Quynh Nhu. Nguyen Tan Giau is a corporal of the DK1 battalion, from Vung Tau, this is his first time on a rig and will be on duty for the next year. His girlfriend Le Thi Quynh Nhu was there at 7am to see him off. The two held hands tightly and hugged before parting. They have been in love for 5 years, Quynh Nhu told her boyfriend to rest assured about his work, while Tan Giau told his girlfriend to stay home and stay healthy, not to overwork herself, and wait for him to return. "A message to the mainland, a sail full of love" During the stormy season, big waves splash white foam, crashing into the ship's side. During the journey through 10 rigs to visit and wish the soldiers a Happy New Year, the delegation could only go directly to 2 rigs. Talking to the soldiers on the oil rig, besides their determination to carry out their duties at the forefront of the storm, they are also filled with feelings and nostalgia for the mainland, where their hardworking wives are taking care of their families so that they can work with peace of mind.Major Le Van Minh talks with Lao Dong reporter. Far from his family and the mainland, Minh said he misses his wife the most, because she has to take on the role of husband and father to take care of 3 children and take care of his elderly parents.
