Image of lunch trays of boarding students at Ba Don Primary School No. 1 - causing controversy
On October 6, a photo of a primary school student's lunch tray was circulated on Facebook, said to have been taken at Ba Don Primary School No. 1 (Ba Don Ward, Quang Tri Province). In the photo, the meal consists of white rice, about 3 small pieces of ham, 1 boiled egg and a dry dish similar to sesame salt. In another photo, the lunch tray has soup but only a few leaves of vegetables.
According to the spread information and accompanying caption claiming "25,000 VND meal", it quickly attracted hundreds of shares and comments.
Many people think that this portion is "too small for the price", not ensuring nutrition for boarding students. One parent commented: "With 25,000 VND, you can cook a much more complete meal at home."
The other tray of rice has 1 boiled egg, some ham slices and dry food like sesame salt.
However, there are also opinions that it is necessary to verify accurate information before concluding, because the image may not fully reflect reality.
On the same afternoon, the People's Committee of Ba Don Ward said that it had received the information and worked with the Board of Directors of Ba Don Primary School No. 1 to clarify the incident. Initially, it was determined that the image reflected was the students' lunch on October 6. The ward requested the school to report specifically on the food supplier, price structure and food portions.
The matter continues to be clarified. Meanwhile, public opinion is asking: 25,000 VND - is it enough to provide a complete meal for children at school?
