From Quynh Lap Leprosy Hospital, through many name changes and reorganizations, in April 2005, the hospital was officially named Quynh Lap Central Dermatology and Leprosy Hospital, with the task of examining, treating, preventing, and rehabilitating leprosy patients, dermatology patients and HIV/AIDS at the highest level in the North Central region.

Two working groups of 71 medical staff were sent to Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong, where they made important contributions to the treatment and care of patients, helping to successfully control the epidemic. In recognition of its great contributions over the past 67 years, Quynh Lap Central Dermatology and Leprosy Hospital has been awarded many noble awards by the Party, the State and the Ministry of Health such as the title of Labor Hero in the Renovation Period, the Third-Class Independence Medal, and the First-Class Labor Medal.
