City police donate more than 1.8 billion VND to support northern provinces

At the ceremony, the leaders, officers and soldiers attending the conference at the connecting points observed a minute of silence to commemorate the people, officers and soldiers who sacrificed and died during the process of preventing storms and floods due to the consequences of storm No. 3.

On behalf of the city police, Major General Vu Xuan Vien shared his condolences for the loss of life and property in the northern provinces. He said that in recent days, the people of the whole country in general and Da Nang city in particular have been following and grieving over the loss of life and property caused by storms and floods in the northern localities. According to preliminary statistics, hundreds of people have died and gone missing, thousands of people have been injured, including officers and soldiers of the armed forces who died and were injured while on duty. Storms and floods have caused serious economic and social damage, affecting the lives of tens of thousands of people...

Responding to the call of the Party Central Committee, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Ministry of Public Security and the Party Committee and Government of Da Nang City to organize donations and support for people affected by storm No. 3; promoting the spirit of solidarity, mutual love, the morality of "mutual love", continuing to enhance the beautiful image of the People's Public Security soldiers in the hearts of the People, on behalf of the Party Committee and the leadership of the City Public Security, Major General Vu Xuan Vien launched and called on all officers and soldiers of the City Public Security to actively respond to the launching ceremony to support and contribute to join hands to encourage and support people in areas affected by the storm and prolonged floods; at the same time, to express gratitude and support police officers and soldiers who heroically sacrificed or were injured while performing their duties in the work of preventing and fighting storms and floods.

At the launching ceremony, according to preliminary statistics, the entire police force from the city to the grassroots level has raised a total of more than 1.8 billion VND. It is expected that the above amount will be transferred by the city police to the receiving addresses of the Ministry of Public Security, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang city; at the same time, support for 9 provinces and cities with heavy damage due to storm No. 3 and the remaining amount will support relatives and families of officers and soldiers who died or were injured while performing the task of fighting the recent storm and flood...

On this occasion, the Director of the City Police also thoroughly grasped a number of key tasks in disaster prevention, search and rescue, and civil defense in Da Nang city in the coming time.
