Cu Lao Gieng Commune Police arrested a subject illegally buying and selling drugs.

On the morning of August 2, Cu Lao Gieng Commune Police (An Giang Province) announced that they were temporarily detaining Ho Quoc Trung (So), born in 1989, residing in Tan Phuoc Hamlet, Cu Lao Gieng Commune, to continue investigating the act of illegal drug trafficking.

At about 11:50 a.m. on August 1, through the work of managing the area and receiving information from the people, the police of Cu Lao Gieng commune ( An Giang province) inspected a house in group 14, Tan Phuoc hamlet. Through the inspection, they discovered that Ho Quoc Trung was in the house, with many pieces of plastic pipe and a nylon bag sealed at both ends containing white crystals, suspected to be methamphetamine.

During a search of Trung’s residence, the police seized a transparent nylon bag sealed at both ends containing white crystals, suspected to be methamphetamine, an electronic scale, and many other related items. The total weight of the items was approximately 55.16 grams.

During the investigation, Ho Quoc Trung confessed that the white crystal seized by the police was methamphetamine that he bought from a stranger in Long Xuyen ward, divided into small pieces and sold to drug addicts for profit.

Currently, the police continue to investigate and handle the case according to the provisions of law.
