NDO - The Vietnam Specialty Coffee Competition 2025 is an annual event organized by the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association on a national scale for Robusta and Arabica green coffee beans. The competition aims to honor the quality of Vietnamese specialty coffee, create momentum for sustainable development of the coffee industry, and elevate the brand of Vietnamese coffee in the international market.

On the afternoon of April 27, in Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province, the Organizing Committee of the Vietnam Specialty Coffee Competition - Vietnam Amazing Cup 2025 announced the results and awarded the contest.

Vietnam Specialty Coffee Competition - Vietnam Amazing Cup 2025 organized by Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association, Dak Lak province.

The Vietnam Specialty Coffee Competition 2025 received 149 coffee samples from 70 organizations and individuals in 9 provinces and cities: Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Kon Tum , Quang Tri, Son La, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hanoi. The total volume of samples submitted was 245 tons, including 173 tons of Robusta coffee and 72 tons of Arabica coffee.

Specialty coffee lovers experience the Top 10 Vietnam Specialty Coffee Competition 2025.

The competition aims to affirm the quality value of Vietnamese coffee beans; to seek out and honor outstanding coffee products from growing regions across the country; and to connect producers, roasters, traders, and experts both domestically and internationally.

A notable new feature of the Vietnam Specialty Coffee 2025 competition is the record-breaking increase in the number of entries. For the first time, a Robusta coffee shipment reached a volume of 30 tons, affirming its high practicality and commercialization potential. Simultaneously, the variety of coffee varieties participating is also diverse, including Robusta varieties such as TR9, Thien Truong, and Xanh Lun; and Arabica varieties such as Catuai (yellow fruit), Bourbon, Typica, and THA1…

The processing method is also unique, with many varieties using the Red Honey technique, which requires a high degree of control.

Coffee samples are evaluated for quality according to international processes and standards (of the Specialty Coffee Association - SCA; Coffee Quality Institute - CQI) and with the participation of judges who are international experts and reputable roasters.

In the preliminary round, the competition identified 139 samples that met specialty standards, of which 92 were Robusta coffee samples and 47 were Arabica coffee samples, equivalent to 93.3%, reaching the highest level in the history of Vietnamese specialty coffee competitions.

Vice President of Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association Le Duc Huy reported the competition results.

The organizing committee selected 43/139 coffee samples with the highest scores, including 24 Robusta coffee samples and 19 Arabica coffee samples, to compete for the Top 10 Robusta and Arabica in the final round of the competition.

The competition organizers presented flowers to congratulate the units that achieved Top 10 in Robusta specialty coffee.

After a rigorous evaluation process of the final round, the Organizing Committee selected the Top 3 Robusta specialty coffee samples and the Top 4 Arabica coffee samples with the highest scores to award prizes.

Regarding Robusta coffee, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to An Coffee Farm, from Hoai Duc commune, Lam Ha district, Lam Dong province with 86.46 points; the second prize to Tinh Farm, from Ea H'leo commune, Ea H'leo district, Dak Lak province with 86.33 points; the third prize to Sucafina Vietnam Limited Liability Company, from Hoai Duc commune, Lam Ha district, Lam Dong province with 85.49 points.

The contest organizers awarded prizes to the Top 4 Arabica specialty coffee units.

For Arabica coffee, the Organizing Committee awarded the First Prize to two units including: Pun Coffee Limited Liability Company from Huong Phung Commune, Huong Hoa District, Quang Tri Province, with a sample of fermentation method in fruit and 8Ro Production, Trade and Service Joint Stock Company from Xuan Truong Commune, Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province, with the same score of 84.79 points;

Third prize was awarded to two units: Quoc Loc - Da Lat Natural Limited Liability Company, from Xuan Truong commune, Da Lat city, Lam Dong province and Le Duc Binh Farm, from Huong Phung commune, Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province, with the same score of 84.67 points.

Representatives of the competition organizers presented the most popular award to the Robusta coffee sample from Bui Coffee Supply, located in Me Linh commune, Lam Ha district, Lam Dong province.

In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded the most popular Robusta coffee sample to Bui Coffee Supply from Me Linh commune, Lam Ha district, Lam Dong province, and the Arabica coffee sample to BANA'A Coffee Production Facility from Dak Ha commune, Tu Mo Rong district, Kon Tum province. They also honored the units that have participated in the competition for five consecutive years and achieved the specialty coffee award.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Lak province, Nguyen Thien Van, emphasized: This is the 7th consecutive year that the Vietnam Specialty Coffee Competition has been held with the goal of finding, evaluating, and promoting coffee samples of outstanding quality that meet international standards for specialty coffee. The competition has become the focal point of a series of activities promoting the domestic specialty coffee industry, from research, training, promotion to domestic and international trade promotion.

The results of this year's competition once again affirm that Vietnam, a world coffee powerhouse, is not only at the top in terms of production volume but also capable of achieving the highest quality standards.

The People's Committee of Dak Lak province expects the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association to continue to be a pioneer in connecting the community, contributing to the successful implementation of the Vietnam Specialty Coffee Development Project for the period 2021-2030.
