The Minister of Construction has just signed Decision No. 1810/QD-BXD dated October 20, 2025, announcing the opening of Tan Cang - Moc Bai Dry Port.
According to the decision effective from the date of signing, Tan Cang - Moc Bai Dry Port (phase 1) is located at Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone, Road 6A, Ben Cau Commune, Tay Ninh Province, with Tan Cang - Tay Ninh Joint Stock Company as the investor.
The port will be exploited, provide services and carry out procedures for import and export of goods at the dry port in accordance with the provisions of Decree No. 38/2017/ND-CP dated April 4, 2017 of the Government on investment, construction, management and exploitation of dry ports; at the same time, comply with the Investment Certificate and Business Registration Certificate issued by the competent authority.
The Ministry of Construction requests Tan Cang - Tay Ninh Joint Stock Company to fully perform the responsibilities and powers of a port operator as prescribed in Decree No. 38/2017/ND-CP and related legal regulations; organize dry port exploitation for the right purposes, in accordance with investment stages; ensure safety, security, fire and explosion prevention and environmental pollution prevention.
The Vietnam Maritime Administration is assigned to organize the inspection and supervision of the operation of Tan Cang - Moc Bai Dry Port in accordance with the provisions of Decree No. 38/2017/ND-CP and related documents.
It is known that Tan Cang – Moc Bai Dry Port is invested by Tan Cang – Tay Ninh Joint Stock Company, a member of Saigon New Port Corporation. The project is located in Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone, Ben Cau District, Tay Ninh Province, with a total area of about 16.5 hectares and a total investment of more than 550 billion VND.
Construction began in November 2023 and phase 1 of the project has now been completed, allowing customs clearance, warehousing, gathering and transshipment of import and export containers right at the border. Putting the dry port into operation helps significantly shorten customs clearance time, reduce pressure at Moc Bai international border gate, and optimize logistics costs for businesses.
According to Saigon Newport Corporation, Tan Cang – Moc Bai Dry Port is invested synchronously with container yard, retail warehouse, vehicle storage, tire crane system, forklift and modern trailer. The port is capable of receiving and handling large volumes of goods from Cambodia, connecting directly with the Ho Chi Minh City seaport system and Cai Mep – Thi Vai port cluster, forming an important cross-border logistics axis of the Southeast region.
With its strategic location on the East-West economic corridor, Tan Cang - Moc Bai Dry Port is expected to become a logistics center on the Vietnam - Cambodia border, contributing to the development of Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone, promoting trade, services and investment in border areas in the coming period.
