OpenAI has just launched GPT Image 1.5, a new version of its image creation tool in ChatGPT, with processing speeds up to four times faster, more precise editing, and better adherence to guidelines. This is a strategic move after CEO Sam Altman declared the image "code red" in an effort to regain ground against Google Gemini.

GPT Image 1.5 not only creates images but also supports detailed editing such as changing facial expressions, lighting, or color while maintaining image consistency. This is a significant advantage over many other GenAI tools that often "reinterpret" the entire image during editing.

Alongside the technological upgrade, OpenAI also introduced a new interface in ChatGPT, transforming the image section into a "creative studio" with an intuitive viewing and editing screen. Users can easily create images based on their ideas or draw inspiration from available suggestions and filters.

SpaceX says one of its Starlink satellites narrowly avoided a collision with satellites launched by China, when the distance between them was only about 200 meters in low Earth orbit. The incident occurred after China's CAS Space launched nine satellites from its Jiuquan Launch Center on December 9, 2025.

Michael Nicolls, Vice President of Engineering at Starlink, expressed frustration over the lack of coordination and ephemeris data sharing among satellite operators. He warned that without information sharing, dangerous approach scenarios like this could occur, threatening space safety.

Experts believe this incident reflects the reality of increasingly crowded Earth orbit, with tens of thousands of satellites in operation. The risk of a Kessler effect – where a collision creates a chain reaction of debris leading to further collisions – is becoming a significant concern.
